Blue Jays at Orioles MLB Picks 2017

Blue Jays at Orioles MLB Picks 2017
It's Game 2 of the 2-game series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. The Jays' J.A. Happ tries to continue his dominance of the Orioles, but do they have what it takes to split the series? From Camden Yards, first is at 7:05pm EST.

Blue Jays Probable Pitchers: Happ, J.A.
Orioles Probable Pitchers: Bundy, Dylan
Canada Sports Betting Pick: Baltimore Orioles (-105) at Sports Interaction

After losing Game 1 to a Mark Trumbo walk off homer in the 11th inning, the Toronto Blue Jays come into Wednesday's game as small favorites. The bad blood seems to be brewing already between these two teams. Needless to say, Jose Bautista isn't exactly liked there. The Baltimore Orioles are up 1-0 in the 2 game series, after losing the season series 10-9 last year.

Taking the mound for the visiting Blue Jays is LH J.A. Happ (2016: 20-4, 3.18 ERA), and the Blue Birds definitely have the pitching advantage in this one. In 11 starts (12 games total), against Baltimore, he has a 3.56 ERA, and a great 1.29 WHIP. Last year, he was 2-0, with a 3.54 ERA, and 1.18 WHIP in 3 starts. Baltimore's starter, Dylan Bundy is no slouch himself.

He went a mediocre 8-5 last season with a 4.52 ERA in 14 starts. His play near the end of season helped push Baltimore into the Wild Card game (which they lost to Toronto in extras). In his 3 games against the Blue Jays in 2016, he was 1-0, pitching 3.2 innings of relief.

MLB Picks Today - April 5, 2017

So should we back the Blue Jays in this situation? It's clear they have a better starter, but Baltimore has a pretty staunch bullpen themselves. Jose Bautista went 0-5 yesterday, so until he heats up, Toronto's stuck with only a few power hitters.

Add that to the fact, they are still away, coming off a bad beat where they had the chance to win in the 9th but blew it, and Baltimore becomes that much more enticing. Getting the Orioles at this price is a steal. Take the Baltimore Orioles at -105 at Sports Interaction

Handicapping MLB Starting Pitchers For Baseball Betting
Major League Baseball revolves around pitching, more so when the playoffs roll around in October. Contenders with big bats and slick fielders will only go as far as their pitching staff allows. As such, handicapping starting pitchers reveals the odds that a team will win an individual ballgame. Baseball clubs with the best starting pitchers have a much greater chance of winning pennants and World Series rings.
