Orioles vs Angles: Match Preview and LIVE MLB Betting Lines

Following a nine-game west coast road swing, the Orioles sandwiched five straight losses with a pair wins during the trip, Baltimore is back at home for their final series prior to the MLB All-Star break. The Orioles have been red-hot at Camden Yards as their 31-13 home record is the best mark in the Majors. Prior to their road trip, the AL East leaders won seven in a row, by a combined 61-29 margin, at home. Baltimore has launched an MLB best 131 home runs through 84 games.

Stumbling through the first half of the MLB 2016 season, Los Angeles has posted a dismal 36-50 record, the Angels are 16.5 games behind Texas and last overall in the AL West. The Halo’s are closing out a ten-game road trip through the east and they just won three straight in Tampa Bay by a 25-8 final count. The Angels mini winning streak was preceded by a 2-12 losing skid.

MLB Wagering Tip: Battle on the Bump Points to a High Scoring Affair in Baltimore

A pair of struggling pitchers head to hill in this contest tonight. RHP Ubaldo Jimenez (5-8 ERA 6.95) gets the call for Baltimore here. Jimenez has allowed at least five runs during six of his last ten starts including a short 4.1 inning outing as he allowed six runs during a 9-4 loss to Seattle. Prior to the mauling by the Mariners, Jimenez allowed three runs over eleven innings during a pair of wins over the light hitting San Diego Padres. We like the Baltimore bats more than Jimenez here.

Experiencing highs and lows of his own this season, RHP Matt Shoemaker (3-9 ERA 4.40) is on the bump for the Angels tonight. Shoemaker posted a 2.14 ERA over six starts in June but Los Angeles went 1-5 in those contests as the Halo’s managed just eight runs during five of his six outings. Shoemaker was bashed about in Boston as he allowed five runs, over 4.2 innings pitched, during a 10-5 Angels loss to the Red Sox on July 3. The Angels inconsistent offence is a concern here.

Angeles vs Orioles Prediction: Though tempted by the game total OVER on this contest, we are backing Baltimore with a five-unit wager on the (-108) money line posted at SportsInteraction.

Handicapping MLB Starting Pitchers For Baseball Betting
Major League Baseball revolves around pitching, more so when the playoffs roll around in October. Contenders with big bats and slick fielders will only go as far as their pitching staff allows. As such, handicapping starting pitchers reveals the odds that a team will win an individual ballgame. Baseball clubs with the best starting pitchers have a much greater chance of winning pennants and World Series rings.
