Miami vs Atlanta: MLB Game Day Preview and Betting Prices

Playing above their preseason expectations, Miami was posted with a lofty +5000 MLB World Series money line back in March, the Marlins are just two-games out of the National League Wild Card playoff race. With a 42-39 overall record, Miami trails Washington by seven games in the NL East Division. The Marlins are looking to salvage a series split versus Atlanta in this four-game set.

Playoffs have become a pipe dream for Atlanta as the Braves are looking at their worst season since 1988 when they posted 54-106 record. Atlanta’s current .346 win percentage is just slightly better than the .338 mark they posted in 1988. To their credit, the Braves have been better recently as they have won two of three against Miami this weekend and ten of their last 17 contests.

MLB Pitching Preview and Braves vs Marlins Game Night Betting Prediction

Inconsistent over the first half of the MLB 2016 season, sophomore LHP Adam Conley (4-5 ERA 3.90) gets the call for Miami tonight. Conley has allowed three runs or less during ten starts and four or more runs during his other six outings this season. Conley pitched a four-hit gem over eight innings during a 3-0 win against Atlanta back on June 22. Conley owns a 3.18 night game ERA.

Equally inconsistent, RHP Matt Wisler (3-7 ERA 4.14) heads to the Fort Bragg bump for the Braves. After allowing 13 runs during his first two June starts, Wisler has been solid as he has given up just seven runs over 19.1 innings pitched over his last three starts. Wisler tossed one scoreless inning to earn a save during the Braves 6-5 win over Miami back on April 17. Swim with the Marlins.

Handicapping MLB Starting Pitchers For Baseball Betting
Major League Baseball revolves around pitching, more so when the playoffs roll around in October. Contenders with big bats and slick fielders will only go as far as their pitching staff allows. As such, handicapping starting pitchers reveals the odds that a team will win an individual ballgame. Baseball clubs with the best starting pitchers have a much greater chance of winning pennants and World Series rings.
