CFL Predictions Today and Week 2 Review
We had a solid handle on CFL Week 2 action as we were perfect on our straight up predictions and that moved our SU record to 6-1-1 so far this season. Edmonton miscues, including fumbles and a boatload of dropped passes, plus an underwhelming Stampeders defensive effort, cost us two bets against the spread as went 2-2 to keep our ATS record level at 4-4 after eight contests. Featuring sharp wagering lines from CSB top rated sportsbooks - let's get to our Week 3 previews and picks.
- British Columbia at Montreal Pick: BC Lions -3 (-115) ATS at SportsInteraction
Slow out of the gate, for the second week in a row, BC (1-1-0) scored 18 fourth quarter points to topple Toronto 28-15. Montreal came back to earth, after their Week 1 win, as they let a 13-6 halftime lead slip away and lost 23-19 in Edmonton. Impressed by the Alouettes defense - we're still not sold on the Montreal offense. The BC Boys look decent on both sides of the ball so we are laying the -3 (-115) ATS price at SportsInteraction and backing the Lions to begin our wagering journey. Stick with us as we'll be back on Friday with our remaining three CFL Week 3 predictions.
Final Score: British Columbia Lions 23-16
- Calgary at Winnipeg Pick: Blue Bombers +3.5 (-105) ATS at Bodog
Displaced, by the world-famous Calgary Stampede, the Stamps (1-0-1) are in Winnipeg (1-0-0) to battle the Blue Bombers on July 7, 2017. Calgary is 16-1 versus Winnipeg dating back to August 2009. Two high scoring teams, that have been leaky on defense, hook up here and Bodog has set the O/U line at 58 points. Backing Calgary, with the spread prices, has been costly for us since the 2016 Grey Cup so we are fairly torn on this contest. Feeling Winnipeg has a shot to win outright here – we are backing the Blue Bombers with the +3.5 (-105) ATS price at the Bodog sportsbook.
Final Score: Calgary Stampeders 29-10
- Toronto at Ottawa Pick: RedBlacks -4 (-115) ATS at William Hill
Ottawa hosts Toronto to open a Saturday double-dip. The Champs (0-1-1) battled bravely during a home-and-away series vs Calgary who have been Grey Cup futures chalk since the preseason. After a 17-16 home win, over slow starting Saskatchewan, the Argos lost 28-15 to the Lions last week. Replacing retired QB Henry Burris, Trevor Harris is fitting in nice as the RedBlacks starting pivot while Ricky Ray followed up his torching of the ‘Riders by laying an egg at BC Place. Being as we are not anywhere near comfortable touting Toronto – we’re backing Ottawa -4 (-115) at William Hill.
Final Score: Toronto Argonauts 26-25
- Hamilton at Saskatchewan Pick: Tiger-Cats +2.5 (-115) ATS at Bet365
Winless squads close out Week 3 CFL wagering action when Saskatchewan hosts Hamilton at 10:00 PM ET at Mosaic Stadium. Winnipeg spoiled the inauguration party with a 43-40 (OT) victory last week. After suffering a 35-12 Week 1 trashing in Toronto – the Tiger-Cats faced a lion's den full of soul searching during their Week 2 BYE. Hamilton is our lone straight up loser this season and we have cashed with the ‘Riders twice early on during the 2017 CFL schedule. We've added a two leg parlay - back Hamilton +2.5 (-115) and OVER 51.5 prices posted on the Bet365 CFL betting board.
Final Score: Saskatchewan Roughriders 37-20
