CFL Picks Week 14

CFL Football Games This Week

Although the NFL is offering up another prime-time clunker, Los Angeles Rams vs San Francisco 49ers is the Week 3 Thursday Night fight, CFL action does not begin until Friday again this week. Following the Redblacks vs Blue Bombers battle, Hamilton visits British Columbia at 11:00 PM ET for the back half of a rare Friday Night double dip. Toronto vs Montreal is the lone Saturday match as the Argonauts host the Alouettes at 7:00 PM ET. Week 14 wraps up with the Calgary Stampeders renewing their rivalry with the Roughriders in Saskatchewan at 4:00 PM ET on Sunday afternoon.

Results / FixturesCFL

Getting close to CFL playoff berth clinching time, we’re not sure why Calgary hasn’t been posted as having punched their postseason ticket. Montreal (3-9) have just six points with six games to go so the Stampeders (10-1-1) have, at the bare minimum, clinched the East crossover position with their 21 points. That said, the playoff fight is going to be fantastic as three East squads are separated by just five points while four teams are within four points of each other in the West as they battle for three tickets to the Grey Cup party. Buckle up as the race to the finish is going to be a wild one.

CFL Predictions Today and Week 13 Review

Billing it as Lucky Week 13, we were fortunate to get off to a good start as Hamilton almost upset Saskatchewan but fell short during a 27-19 home loss. Trusting a banged up and fading Edmonton Crew - we lost both of our Eskimos vs Argonauts bets as Toronto posted a 34-26 win at BMO Field. Stymied by the Stamps ATS price again, British Columbia failed to get in under the +9 point line as Calgary crushed the Lions 27-13. Our week ended on a winning note as Ottawa raced out to a 22-3 halftime lead and easily cruised to a 29-11 win over Montreal. Huge spreads await us in Week 14.

CSB Money Line & ATS Week 13 Results: 3-1-0 and 2-2-0 Overall: 37-14-1 and 28-23-2

  • Ottawa at Winnipeg Pick: Blue Bombers -7 (-110) ATS at Bodog

A key contest for both squads, defending Grey Cup Champion Ottawa rolls into Winnipeg as +7 (-110) pups at Bodog. Ottawa is down to third string QB Ryan Lindley who makes his first CFL start here. Lindley, who had NFL looks from Arizona, New England, San Diego and Indianapolis, was 7 of 14 for 76 yards and one INT after Drew Tate was injured last week. After a Week 13 BYE, their last of the season, Winnipeg is five points behind Calgary and two up on Edmonton. The Blue Bombers have been a CFL scoring machine (34.5 PPG) so we will swallow the line and wager on Winnipeg.

Final Score: Winnipeg Blue Bombers 29-9

  • Hamilton at British Columbia Pick: BC Lions -12 (-105) ATS at Bet365

Following wins over Toronto and Ottawa, Hamilton (2-9-0) returned to their kitten-like form as the Cats lost 27-19 vs the 'Riders last week. While the 27 points against is below their 34.6 average, the Tiger-Cats offence (19.7 PPG) is still M.I.A. eh? Occupying the West Division cellar, British Columbia looks to rebound after the Stamps CFL best defense smothered them at McMahon Stadium last Saturday. The good news is the BC defense was solid and Leo's are back at BC Place. Though leery of a backdoor cover - we will lay the monster -12 (-105) Bet365 ATS line and prowl with the Lions.

Final Score: Hamilton Tiger-Cats 24-23

A race is a race and Montreal is four points back of Toronto as the Alouettes and Argonauts re-fire their cross-province rivalry on Saturday. Fresh off a Week 12 BYE, the Argos were solid versus Edmonton but Toronto won for the just the second time over a seven-game span. Montreal is a mess and their revamped coaching staff saw first hand what their predecessors were dealing with. Als QB Drew Willy led the offense to just eight first downs vs the Redblacks last week. Expecting the Boatmen will sail past the -6.5 (-110) ATS odds at SportsInteraction we are taking Toronto.

Final Score: Toronto Argonauts 33-19

  • Calgary at Saskatchewan Pick: Stampeders -6.5 (-110) ATS at William Hill

One of the best rivalries in the CFL takes center stage on Sunday afternoon in Regina. While Calgary is clearly the class of the CFL, Saskatchewan put a rough 2-4 start behind them as the 'Riders are on a 4-1 run. The Melonheads are also 4-1 at new Mosaic Stadium - including a 38-24 whacking of Winnipeg back in Week 11. For their part, Calgary has won eight straight and they are closing in on the West Division playoff bye. William Hill has finally posted their prices for this battle as the Stamps are -6.5 (-110) road favorites. While we would like to pass - we will cruise with Calgary.

Final Score: Calgary Stampeders 15-9

Out west, the CFL-best Calgary Stampeders host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who overcame a 53-year curse to finally win a playoff game in Regina.
