104th Grey Cup Odds

Calgary and Ottawa are meeting for the third time this season and the 104th Grey Cup odds at the SportsInteraction online sportsbook have the Stampeders as monster -9 (-110) ATS favorites over the RedBlacks. Calgary has a -475 money line while Ottawa has a +365 straight up price. The Game Total is set at a rather reasonable 54.5 points. Considering how the Stampede City Crew dismantled just about every team in their path during the regular season - the prices are right about where we figured they would be. Discussed in depth down below, our CFL Semi-Final article predicted these thick lines. In that pre-playoff piece, we picked Calgary as the eventual 2016 Grey Cup Champion knowing that we could guarantee a payday with the East representative on Championship Sunday.

104th CFL Grey Cup Odds - Ottawa RedBlacks vs Calgary Stampeders

Calgary Stampeders @ Ottawa Redblacks 2016 Grey Cup Prediction

BET CALGARY -9.5 (-110) ATS AT SPORTSINTERACTION (Ottawa Redblacks 39-33 OT Final)

BMO Field – Toronto, Ontario 4:00 PM ET Sunday, November 27, 2016

Seeking their franchise first CFL title, despite posting a weak 8-9-1 regular season record, Ottawa is making a second straight Grey Cup appearance. The Redblacks beat the Edmonton Eskimos 35-23 during a snowy Sunday in Ottawa to win the Eastern Division Final. At 41 years old, QB Henry Burris has found a fountain of youth and he was sharp in the snow last week. Burris led the Stampeders to Grey Cup titles in 1998 and 2008 during his ten seasons as the Calgary pivot. Starting RB Mossls Madu won’t play in this match due to injury but his replacement Kienan Lafrance rushed for 157 yards against the Eskimos. Ottawa dropped a 26-20 decision to Edmonton in the 103rd Grey Cup.

Looking to claim a franchise eighth Grey Cup Championship, Calgary rolls into Toronto as very thick chalk in this contest. The Stampeders, who are 7-7 during 14 Grey Cup matches, are making a third title game appearance in five years. The Stamps lost 35-22 to Toronto in 2012 prior to squeaking past Hamilton with a 20-16 victory in 2014. During their last Grey Cup game that was played in the East, Calgary posted 22-14 win over Montreal at Olympic Stadium in 2008. The Stamps settled for a 26-26 tie against Ottawa back in Week 3 and then ripped the RedBlacks 48-23 during Week 13 action in Calgary. The Stamps stomped on their opponents by an average 33-20 final count during their first 19 games this season and they totally dominated the BC Lions in the Western Final.

Final Thoughts and 2016 CFL Grey Cup Call: Having looked at this contest from every angle, we can’t see Ottawa matching Calgary here. The RedBlacks victory last weekend came against a weary Edmonton Eskimos squad that was playing on the road for a sixth time over a seven-game stretch. Four of those journeys were to the East and that kind of travel eventually takes a toll on a team. We are laying the -9.5 (-110) ATS price at SportsInteraction and backing the Calgary Stampeders to capture the 104th Grey Cup. Bet on the CFL title game at any of these top ranked bookmakers.

Redblacks Stomp the Stampeders: Some losses are more difficult to take than others – this is certainly one of them. The Calgary Stampeders, who were two-score favorites at every top ranked online sportsbook, rolled into Toronto and laid an egg in the Grey Cup Championship. The Stamps vaunted defense, which gave up just 20 points per game during their first 19 matches, was M.I.A. on Sunday as they dropped a 39-33 decision to the Ottawa Redblacks in overtime. Although the game going into OT makes it sound like this match was close, in reality, Grey Cup MVP QB Henry Burris & Co. were in control throughout. Along with kicking ourselves, we are embarrassed that we left guaranteed money on the table by not backing up our Grey Cup futures bet. That was a greedy and stupid mistake – one we will never make again. While it’s a tough way to end the year, we look forward the CFL 2017 season, as we will cover every contest right out of the Week 1 starting gate.

2016 Grey Cup Betting Tips

Through the first four CFL 2016 playoff matches we have posted a 1-2-1 ATS record. We garnered a PUSH on the Hamilton vs Edmonton East Semi-Final and a point spread loss (straight up cover) in the Winnipeg vs British Columbia Western Semi-Final. We lost outright with Edmonton and easily covered with Calgary during the CFL Division Finals last week. We mentioned we have a possible guaranteed payday in the opening as we have Calgary on a Grey Cup Championship futures wager. While we haven’t decided on our course of action, that is needed to protect our original ten-unit investment, there are three paths we can take. Right now a Calgary win earns us a $671 return.

Although we still LOVE the Stampeders here, an Ottawa upset victory leaves a ten-unit dent in our bankroll. As such, we have three choices on Grey Cup Sunday. The riskiest path is to let the original wager ride by doing nothing to earn $671 or go down $1,000. We could also back Ottawa with an eleven-unit wager on the point spread odds. That would earn us a $1,671 return if Calgary doesn’t cover the line or we break even with an outright Ottawa win. The risk here is a big Stamps blowout ends up costing us a $429 hit. Finally, we can set up a guaranteed return by betting three-units on the Ottawa money line. With this back-up wager we earn $371 if the Stampeders win and $95 with a Redblacks upset. We will update our final futures decision on 26/11/16 so please stay tuned!

Grey Cup Futures Final Decision: Normally we would take the guaranteed payout but we see the Calgary Stampeders being unbeatable in this contest. Being as we are getting Calgary with an EVEN price, thanks to our pre-playoff futures wager, we are going to let our original wager ride and stick with the Stampeders as 2016 Canadian Football League Grey Cup Champions. Enjoy the game!

This was their second chip under the Bo Levi Mitchell era and a dynasty they are becoming. But again, history isn't on Calgary's side for a repeat hence why 2018 Grey Cup Odds are almost even. 2018 CFL Division Finals Odds
The road to the 2018 CFL Grey Cup continues on Sunday, November 18th with the eastern and western division finals. After a big win over the Lions, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats travel to meet the division-leading Redblacks in Ottawa. Out west, the CFL-best Calgary Stampeders host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who overcame a 53-year curse to finally win a playoff game in Regina. Sports betting sites show the Stampeders as favorites, but the Blue Bombers resilience make them an attractive underdog to win the west.
