Toronto FC vs. Chicago Fire Odds
Toronto FC 2017 Record: 1-4-1
Chicago Fire 2017 Record: 3-2-1
Canada Sports Betting Pick: Chicago Fire (+425) at Bet365
It’s red against red this Friday night as week 7 of the MLS kicks off with Chicago traveling to face Toronto FC at BMO. Chicago fans have had it rough in recent history – they have seen their side finish dead last in the previous two MLS seasons and secure just one playoff appearance since 2010.
Enter World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger and his shrewd midfield colleague Dax McCarty and all of a sudden you have a struggling team turn into a potential league giant. The side looks as though it has traveled light years away from the performances of 2016.
The Fire will be full of confidence following consecutive victories, including a 3-0 drubbing of New England last time out which ironically ended the Revolution’s two-match winning streak. They come to Toronto to face a side that they last encountered on the final matchday of 2016 in what was more or less a meaningless fixture. The 3-2 scoreline on that day flattered the traveling Fire who have lost their last three matches to FC.
Expect this new-look Chicago Fire to turn the tables and dominate this fixture.
Toronto will do their best to resist the Fire, but on the back of mediocre early season form which includes four draws and just the one victory, it will be difficult to see them get anything more than a point out of this one. Although the side has only lost once this season (coming in their last start against Columbus) and remain undefeated at home, I’m tipping Chicago to win this one.
Best MLS Picks Today – April 21, 2017
As always, there are a variety of great matches this weekend in the MLS and Bet365 has a stack of great odds available on every game. The Portland Timbers take on the Vancouver Whitecaps in their Cascadia Cup fixture on Saturday afternoon which promises to be a cracker of a game.
Despite a slow start from the Caps, a big victory against fellow Cascadian rivals Seattle has their season heading in the right direction. Meanwhile, the Timbers lead the Western Conference and are the top scores in the entire MLS so far this season.
Expect Portland to get up for this one and maintain their position at the top of the table by beating the Caps – have a go at the ‘both teams to score market.
Another notable fixture is the clash between Orlando and New York City FC. Both sides find themselves in the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference table and to date Orlando are the only side in the MLS besides Sporting Kansas City to remain undefeated.
This will be put to the test against NYC who are undefeated at home so far this season, although Orlando do already have bragging rights having won the reverse fixture at home in round one. This should be a tight and low-scoring affair, try your luck with a bet on 0-0.
