Premier League Predictions: Arsenal vs Manchester United Odds

Premier League Predictions: Arsenal vs Manchester United Odds
On Sunday May 6th (11am EST) when Manchester United visit Arsenal there will be a myriad of subplots surrounding the affair, as both teams look to salvage disappointing Premier League seasons.

Arsenal vs Manchester United Odds

Premier L. - Matchday 2
Saturday 18 August
  Money Line

Jose Mourinho has given everyone full disclosure coming into this game – He will be fielding a weakened Manchester United side and resting key starters for next Thursday’s Europa League semifinal second leg. But he’s done this trick before. When

When manager at Chelsea 4 seasons ago, prior to a Champions League semifinal he fielded a weakened side at Anfield when Liverpool were fighting to win the Premier League title. Chelsea won 2-0 that day by parking the bus and pouncing on an opposition blunder.

That’s why the line is basically even money for Arsenal. The books have long memories and know what Mourinho is capable of. They also know that Arsenal is a club swimming in a concoction of turmoil and apathy. And Arsenal fans should not expect even the Manchester United B team to sooth their angst. In 16 career matches between Arsene Wenger and the Special One Arsene’s teams have only netted 8 goals.

UNDER 2.5 GOALS (-106) BET365

Mourinho is an expert at shutting down the Gunners and it leads me to believe that on Sunday May 6th, I will be watching a re-run of a game I have seen maybe a hundred times in my life. Arsenal will huff and puff and try to blow down United’s well drilled red wall down. United won’t offer much going forward and this game will be, if not entertaining, a case study in just how easily Mourinho can kill a football game. For previous example’s of this just refer to the latest Manchester Derby.

Premier League Picks Week 36

Also on Sunday May 6th and Monday May 7th we’ve picked out a couple more profitable spots.

LIVERPOOL -163 available on William Hill

Southampton look like they are already on the beach and this should be a layup for the home side. Even though Southampton currently sit in the top half of the table the fact that they have a negative goal differential is indicative of how weak the Premier League is in general.

Southampton are a mediocre team. Liverpool control their own destiny after pulling out a gritty win at Watford on Monday, and I expect them to handle business comfortably. Philippe Coutinho looks like he will be able to play a part and if he and Adam Lallana can get on the field together they will be able to engineer more than enough chances for Liverpool to win.

CHELSEA TO WIN AND KEEP A CLEAN SHEET -143 available on William Hill

This play is pending the starting lineups. You will want to see both N’golo Kante and hopefully David Luiz playing to bet this with any confidence.

Chelsea, who prior to last weekend had not kept a clean sheet in over 3 months in the Premier League, finally kept a team off the scoresheet and made it look very easy. Playing a Boro side who may be resigned to their relegation fate and who average less than a goal per game away from home, looks like a recipe for a second clean sheet in a row.

Chelsea may have to huff and puff for a while, but goals have not been this side’s issue at all this season. With Tottenham having lost on Friday, Chelsea can basically touch the title with a win Monday. Expect Conte’s men to be shot out of a cannon.
