Predators vs Penguins Stanley Cup Final Game 5 Odds And Prediction
Penguins at Predators Stanley Cup Final Game 4 Review
Sparked by their super high-spirited Smashville fans – the Preds are back in Steel Town after two dominating wins in Nashville. While the 4-1 final score points to a blowout, the numbers were fairly even in this contest – including the shots as Nashville as had a slim 26-24 advantage. The Predators added to the already raging inferno in Music City as Calle Jarnkrok scored his second goal of the playoffs 14:51 into the first period. Sidney Crosby answered that tally quickly (at 15:57) and the first twenty minutes ended as a 1-1 tie. The Preds were the overall aggressors again though.
Frederick Gaudreau at 3:45 and Viktor Arvidsson at 13:08 both lit the lamp for the third time in the postseason during the second period to give the Predators a 3-1 cushion after 40 minutes of play. In desperation mode, Pittsburgh pulled Matt Murray from goal and Filip Forsberg launched an end to end rocket that found the back of the net 16:37 into the third frame – sending Nashville’s faithful fans blissfully out into the party on Broadway. As discussed a few times, during our previous four match previews, the Predators heavy style of play has slowed the march of the Penguins to a crawl.
NHL Championship Game 5 Preview: Predators @ Penguins
With impressive 5-1 and 4-2 wins in Tennessee, the Predators proved their Game 1 & 2 losses in Pennsylvania were more fluke than fact. During the first four games of this series, the Music City mindset has gone from “we hung in with the Champs” to “what do we have to do to beat these guys” to “that’s more like it” to “we are in control now” heading into Game 5 in Pittsburgh. If the Preds keep pummelling the Pens with timely hits – they will have success in the New Igloo.

While Pekka Rinne returning to his Stanley Cup Conn Smythe MVP form has certainly helped the Preds, Matt Murray looking like the “rookie” he is has really hurt Pittsburgh. Speaking of hurting, Nick Bonino being sidelined during the last two matches has created a hole for the Pens. Bonino’s injury has caused Sidney Crosby to play additional minutes, on top of an already heavy workload, while C Matt Cullen and RW Carter Rowney have moved up to the third and fourth centerman spots respectively. Bonino is missed and some of the Champs appear to running low on fuel.
Nashville at Pittsburgh NHL Stanley Cup Finals Match 5 Prediction – Pittsburgh 6-0 Final
Pittsburgh has played a lot of NHL hockey since October of 2015 and their top stars, who are not spring-chickens, also played in the World Hockey Championship in September 2016. Just as the Predators grinded down the Ducks, they have taken away the Penguins space during vast chunks of clock time through four contests now. That said, as has been the case since Game 1, the team with the better goaltending will take a 3-2 stranglehold in the fight for Lord Stanley’s Mug.Nashville (+125) SportsInteraction Money Line Play Here!
Rinne is back in a groove, stopping 50 of 52 shots, while Murray’s wall appears to be melting as he allowed eight goals on 58 shots in Nashville. Disappointed we didn’t receive a better fate during the first two matches, our Game 3 puck line wager and Game 4 money line bets both cashed to put us in the green during the 2017 NHL Cup Finals. Rolling four solid lines, while not letting up on the hit parade, has us leaning towards Nashville again tonight. We are still waiting for the first Finals OT contest – that could happen here. Back the Predators with (+125) SportsInteraction money line.
NHL Stanley Cup Futures Update and Advice on Sports Betting in Canada
Not looking good, after we fell into a 2-0 hole, our to pre NHL Championship futures calls are still alive and well. We are holding tickets that have Nashville claiming the Cup in 6 games (+400) and Pekka Rinne winning the NHL Playoff MVP award with a (+200) money line. Game 5 in any seven-game playoff series is always pivotal and that certainly applies with the NHL Finals being knotted at two wins each. We don’t have much wiggle room with those picks so we are going to stand pat on our futures at this point. We still like ’em both – but need a Preds win tonight.
Basketball fans finally received some entertaining NBA Finals hoops action as Cleveland and Golden State went down to the wire during Game 3 of their Roundball Trilogy Battle. In the end though, the Warriors posted a 118-113 victory and they can close out the Cavaliers during Game 4 on Friday night. Yours truly has not bet much on the NBA Championship series but Cleveland forcing a Game 5 (or GSW booting Game 4) is what we are looking at right now. Canuck bettors are reminded that fantastic MLB wagering lines, along with a plethora of 2017 NFL preseason prices, are also very prominent at the top ranked online sportsbooks we rate and recommend in our Top Five Table.
