Fast approaching, minutes on the Super Bowl LII kickoff countdown clock are steadily ticking away. Representing the American and National Conferences respectively, New England and Philadelphia are busy preparing for the biggest single day sporting event on the Planet. Anticipation continues to build as the World awaits the 52nd annual NFL Championship match. Bookmakers have been working overtime as they have posted a boatload of betting odds for the Patriots vs Eagles 2018 NFL title fight. Money line bets are included in the comprehensive package offered at top ranked online sportsbooks. New England rolls into their tenth Super Bowl as fairly thick chalk while the Eagles are underdogs during their third quest for a Vince Lombardi trophy.

Bet on Super Bowl LII at Sports Interaction

Historic, in every sense of the world, money line odds have been available on every NFL title match. Sometimes the lines are minuscule, like when New England and Seattle were both priced at -110 during Super Bowl 49 in 2015. We have also seen huge numbers like San Diego’s +1800 money line during their SB 29 “Lambs to the Lions” 49-26 shakedown by the San Francisco 49ers in 1995.

While it is a “NFC-AFC Best vs Best Battle” bookmakers have set favorites with solid consistency as chalk squads have won 34 matchups while underdogs have managed just 16 victories. Make it 34-17 if you count the Seahawks 28-24 implosion during SB 49, against the Patriots, as Seattle was early chalk before the line settled at EVEN by kickoff back in 2014. Pups have risen recently though.

Since New England’s 20-17 Super Bowl 36 upset of St. Louis in 2002 pups have a 9-7 straight up record. The numbers have been even better lately as dogs have won five the last six Championship fights outright – by a 178-124 combined final margin. If not for QB Tom Brady leading the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history, SB 51 vs Atlanta in 2017, underdogs would have six straight wins.

Two Decades Of Splits: Pups are 10-10, by a 492-469 margin, during the last 20 NFL title games.

Patriots Continue Down Their Record Setting Path

Building on their own NFL playoff record, set when they faced Atlanta in Houston during the 2017 SB 51 match, New England is about to play in their tenth Super Bowl. To put that into perspective, a group of seventeen squads have a combined 20 Championship Sunday appearances and four of them, Detroit, Jacksonville, Houston and Cleveland, have never been invited to the Big Dance.

A money line win during Super Bowl LII would tie New England with Pittsburgh as the only teams with six Vince Lombardi Trophies. A victory would also move the Pats out of a tie with Dallas and San Francisco who have five NFL titles. That said, the Cowboys and 49ers haven’t won on Super Bowl Sunday in more than two decades as their last titles were in 1994 and 1995 respectively.

Chastised by some, for their .556 Super Bowl winning percentage, it’s difficult to argue against New England being one of the best sports organizations on the Planet. Lead by QB Tom Brady, who is making his eighth Super Bowl start, 17 current Patriots have played in at least two Super Bowls and that number will jump to 35 when Super Bowl 52 hits the turf at U.S. Bank Stadium on 04/02/18.

Tom Brady/Bill Belichick Era: New England is 5-2 SU on Super Bowl money lines since 2002.

Eagles Are Soaring Into largely Uncharted Territory

Finding fodder to discuss the Eagles title experiences is difficult as Philadelphia is making their third appearance on football’s brightest stage. Founded in 1933, the Eagles won NFL Championships, in 1948, 1949 and 1960, by a combined 38-13 final margin. While never getting over the final hump, since joining the NFC East in 1970, Philly has advanced to the playoffs 21 times over 48 seasons.

Sporting an 0-2 mark, Philadelphia has never been close to grasping an NFL Championship ring. Making their first title match appearance, during Super Bowl 15 in 1981, the Eagles faltered early as they were down 14-0 at the end of the first quarter vs the Oakland Raiders. QB Ron Jaworski and Crew entered that contest as -140 ML chalk but were smothered 27-10 by the Silver & Black.

Philadelphia earned eleven playoff berths, from 1982 to 2003, but endured a 23-season drought prior to their SB 39 appearance during the 2004 NFL campaign. Meeting the Tom Brady led Patriots, Philly enjoyed their first and only Super Bowl lead as they were up 7-0 five minutes into the second quarter. A pair of Brady TD passes ended that threat and the Eagles lost 24-21 as +250 ML pups.

Defense Must Lead The Way: Philly D has allowed 17 points during two 2018 playoff duels.

Buy Single Pick Super Bowl Tickets In Canada

Myths and Legends are created, tossed away, or carved in stone on Super Bowl Sunday. Although the Pats thrive on an “Us Against the World” mantra, moving to a .600 SB winning percentage should quiet the few that remain in the “Patriots are choke artists” crowd. While that myth should have vanished after Malcolm Butler’s SB XLIX game saving INT versus Seattle in 2015, the herd was thinned considerably after the Brady Bunch stunned Atlanta with a 36-28 OT win during SB LI.

Another pesky myth, though 100% debunked, is bettor’s believing they can’t place a money line bet on the Eagles or Patriots – without adding one or two more selections to the ticket. In fact, from standard ATS, SU and O/U options, to alternate lines, props and teasers, Canadians can bet on thousands of Super Bowl options. Plus, they can do it one wager at time, if they wish, at the Super Bowl focused sportsbooks listed in the CSB Top Five Table. Get in on the action anytime 24/7.

How To Bet The Money Line: Watch for betting tips and free picks, up to SB 52 kickoff, here and on our Twitter and Facebook pages. The Eagles mega-bet caused a shift in the lines (that were current on 24/02/18) though bettor’s need to take that wager with a grain of salt. That’s due to the possibility of the ticket being bought by a shark who is trying to reduce the Patriots price before pouncing on them with larger wager. Waiting for the lines to settle into place – we will publish our Moneyline, ATS and O/U Super Bowl LII selections at the top of this page on or before 03/2/18.
