NHL Playoff Predictions: Ducks vs Predators Game 5

NHL Playoff Predictions: Ducks vs Predators Game 5

NHL Western Conference Finals Game 4 Review

While it would have been a Music City Miracle, Nashville showed some metal as they fought back from a two-goal deficit in the third period of Game 4. Given how amped up they should have been at home, Nashville surprisingly registered just two shots and fell behind 1-0 after the first period. Ducks fireplug Nick Ritchie made the score 2-0 halfway through the second frame and John Gibson came up huge as he stopped all 18 pucks the Preds fired at him during the middle twenty minutes.

My Team's Next MatchAnaheim Ducks

Nashville outshot Anaheim 11-5 in the third and P.K. Subban scored with 6:27 left on the clock to narrow the gap. With Pekka Renne on the bench, the Preds tied the match with 35 seconds left in regulation time on a goal by red-hot Filip Forsberg. Anaheim had a 6-3 shot advantage in OT and won the game when Subban deflected a shot by Corey Perry into the top corner of his own net to seal the deal. Subban made two bad plays on the winning goal as he also passed the puck to Perry.

2017 Stanley Cup Western Conference Final TV Schedule & Results

Anaheim Ducks (Pacific Division #1 Seed) vs. Nashville Predators (West Wild Card #2 Seed)

Anaheim Ducks vs Nashville Predators Prediction

We received a “what can you do” Game 4 result as our record fell to 3-1 on this series. The Ducks win cut into our bankroll as we lost 145 of the 300-unit profit we had built up during the first three matches. A plodding Predators start at home was very unexpected – especially after Nashville had a 17-9 first period shot edge during Game 3 at a raucous Bridgestone Arena in Music City. The Preds went 0-5 on the power play and they are now a dismal 1-17 with the man advantage in this series.

Facing a must win situation, Anaheim responded in what was a fairly even match by the numbers. The only stat that really stands out is the Ducks 12-6 takeaway advantage. Anaheim had a posted a slight edge in shots (37-34) and they won the faceoff duels by a 40-35 margin as well. Huge hits keep coming in this series as the teams sawed off that battle with 30 each. A playoff ending injury to Preds star and top scorer C Ryan Johansen shifts this “best-of-three” series in favor of Anaheim.

150 Unit Anaheim Ducks (-150) Money Line Bet William Hill

Injuries are always tough to deal with – they are even more taxing when they happen during the Stanley Cup chase. In addition to losing Johansen, Nashville might also be without veteran center Mike Fisher tonight. Those two have taken 565 of the Predators 891 postseason faceoffs. Johansen being out also creates a negative WOWY factor as he leads Nashville with ten assists and 13 points during the second season. Feeling the Ducks will protect their home pond in Disneyland tonight, we are backing Anaheim with a 150 unit investment on the (-150) William Hill money line price.

NHL Futures Update: Odds To Win The 2017 Stanley Cup Championship

Shaken (and stirred) again, the Canada Sports Betting Stanley Cup futures board flipped favorites in both conferences following the Penguins Game 4 win (3-2) versus the Senators. After plummeting to fourth favorites, Pittsburgh leaped over everyone as they are back on top with a their smallest line (+140) to date. Ottawa enjoyed a very short stay as top Cup chalk but their (+250) odds have doubled to (+500) again. The Pens injuries remain a concern if you are backing the Steel City squad.

Nashville and Anaheim swapped second and third favorite spots after the Ducks won Game 4 of the West Final. During the 24 hours that followed, both teams had some value added to their futures prices as Anaheim went from (+260) to (+275) while Nashville’s Cup line inflated from (+275) to (+300). We have the West winner claiming the Stanley Cup so we are staying put with our William Hill NHL futures bets. For everyone else – they are available 24/7 so get in on the action anytime.

Stanley Cup 2019 Odds: Tavares & Toronto Favorites?
Toronto will remember July 1st, 2018 not as Canada Day, but Tavares Day, after the pride of Mississauga was liberated from the New York Islanders. This stunning coup solidifies the Leafs top-line talent for the next half-decade, creating a long window of opportunity for Toronto’s long-suffering franchise. The Maple Leafs odds to win the Stanley Cup in 2019 jumped to +700 after the announcement, better than the Lightning, Bruins and Golden Knights.
