NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight

NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight
The Toronto Maple Leafs headline Tuesday night hockey, hosting the St. Louis Blues at the Air Canada Centre. NHL picks and pucklines for January 16th also include the rising Dallas Stars travelling to Detroit as road favorites. Busy San Jose faces a well-rested Coyotes squad in the desert, while the Vegas Golden Knights travel to Nashville to regain momentum atop the western conference.

Will Maple Leafs Sing The Blues Tonight?

St. Louis tends to play well against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Over the past few years, the Blues dominate the Leafs, outscoring Toronto by a 13-6 margin over the last three meetings – including a 6-4 Leafs defeat in St. Louis on November 4th.

Defense has been the main issue for the Maple Leafs over the past couple of weeks. Toronto repeatedly handed leads to Ottawa and relinquished their own two-goal margin during the last five minutes of an overtime loss to Columbus. The Leafs can’t expect to make the same errors against the Blues and remain unpunished.

NHL Lines: Lighting The Lamp

Blues at Maple Leafs – Bet St. Louis SU (+110)

Toronto hasn’t played well against St. Louis over the past half-decade, winning two of the last nine meetings, including three losses in a row. The Maple Leafs have been notably mediocre over the past couple of weeks, giving up points against the Senators and the Blue Jackets in a pair of disappointing losses. St. Louis entered their week-long break with only four wins in their last ten, but they’ll be ready to resume their fight to win the Central Division. Expect a close St. Louis win over Toronto.

Stars at Red Wings – Bet Dallas SU (-135)

Detroit’s won six of the last ten meetings against the Stars, hinting at a trend. However, the Red Wings lost the previous two against Dallas, including a pair of puckline defeats, with the last loss happening in October. Dallas wasn’t even playing well at that point in the season, still adjusting to new personnel, including a brand new starting goalie. Now that the Stars shine, they’ve become one of the best teams in the western conference over the past two weeks. Dallas should defeat the Wings tonight in Motown.

Sharks at Coyotes – Bet Arizona SU (+120)

The San Jose Sharks play on a day of rest after defeating the Los Angles Kings at the Staples Center. This will also be their third game in four days, travelling to the desert for a match against the Arizona Coyotes. San Jose needed overtime to defeat Arizona 6-5 a few days ago at the Shark Tank, and the task of defeating the well-rested Coyotes will be a bit more difficult this evening. Pick the Coyotes at home for the +120 payout.

Golden Knights at Predators – Bet Vegas SU (+100)

Vegas staked their claim as the second-best team in the NHL, and the top contender in the west, by completing an eight-game win streak over the holiday season. The Golden Knights dropped a home match against the Edmonton Oilers before flying into Music City, hinting at a bit of rust due to playing a single game in eight days. However, Nashville’s Filip Forsberg won’t be in the lineup as he mends a suspected broken hand. Since Vegas features a solid +100 moneyline, wager on the top team in the west.

Dirty Dangle Of The Night:

Dallas Stars Beat Puckline Against Detroit Red Wings (-1.5, +230)

The Dallas Stars beat the Detroit Red Wings by two or more goals in three of their last five meetings, including a 4-2 October matchup. Dallas slid into the top wildcard spot in the western conference by winning seven of their last ten games, including a tough OT victory against Boston – one of the hottest teams in the east. Despite the lack of rest, Dallas is geared up for another strong road performance, with a potential +230 payout as the reward for the additional risk.
