NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight

NHL Picks & Pucklines Tonight
The Maple Leafs and the Flames headline an evening of four games in the NHL on December 6th, providing excellent opportunities for NHL picks and pucklines. Ottawa has a great chance to climb out of the basement of the eastern conference against the Ducks, while Edmonton wants to prolong the Flyers losing trend at Rogers Place. Chicago has a tough matchup against Washington, as the Capitals play well at home against the Blackhawks.

Will The Flames Continue To Fade Against Toronto?

On paper, it should be next to impossible for the Calgary Flames to play poor defensive hockey, but they’ve allowed goals in bunches during the first quarter of the season. Toronto’s the type of team which leaps on the opportunity to bury opponents, requiring discipline to beat a deep fleet of strong forwards.

Ottawa travels to southern California for a road trip which begins against the injured Ducks, giving the Senators an opportunity to build a positive trend after a November full of losing. If the Sens can’t put away a limping Anaheim, they risk another long loss streak in December.

NHL Lines: Lighting The Lamp

Flames at Maple Leafs – Bet Toronto SU (-170)

The Toronto Maple Leafs have walloped Calgary over the past couple of meetings, beating the Flames by a combined score of 8-1. Over their last ten meetings, the Leafs have won six, including three of the last four. Calgary plays a bit better on the road compared to their home performance, and the Maple Leafs have exhibited a similar trend. Toronto should earn the win, but the Flames should make this game closer than usually, making a straight up wager the more appropriate choice.

Senators at Ducks – Bet Ottawa SU (-105)

Anaheim have been dealing with the fall out of numerous injuries, a situation which has improved slightly with the return of Rickard Rakell and the trade for Adam Henrique. Ottawa’s mostly healthy, but have been mired in a terrible slump, with their latest loss a disappointing 5-0 thumping at the hands of the Jets. The Ducks have a 7-3 edge over the Senators during their last ten meetings, but Anaheim’s injuries and a “schedule loss” gives Ottawa the edge on Wednesday night.

Flyers at Oilers – Bet Edmonton SU (-130)

These teams have split their last ten meetings, but the Oilers have the edge over the last six matches, beating the Flyers four times. Before Philly went on an extended losing streak, they squeaked a 2-1 victory over the Oilers at the Wells Fargo Center. This time around, Philly has a single win in their last ten overall, while Edmonton has been showing signs of life. Bet on Edmonton defending their arena against the invading Flyers.

Blackhawks at Capitals – Bet Washington Puckline (-1.5, +180)

Washington have dominated the Blackhawks by winning seven of their last ten meetings against Chicago. The Blackhawks have lost six straight in the United State capitol, dating back to the 2008-09 season. Making things more difficult for Chicago is the fact that Washington has played well at home this year, earning a 10-5 mark, including a 4-1 hunting of the Sharks on December 4th. Washington beat the puckline against Chicago in four of their six consecutive wins at home, making the spread an acceptable risk for improving the payout.

Dirty Dangle Of The Night

Toronto Maple Leafs Beat Puckline Against Calgary Flames (-1.5, +170)

The puckline for the Toronto Maple Leafs should be considered a bit riskier that the odds suggest because winning a third straight over Calgary by two or more goals is unlikely. However, after shutting out the Coyotes, the Flames have given up 12 goals in two games, suggesting another defensive swoon. Choosing the Leafs puckline increases both the risk and the reward for betting on Toronto.
