NBA Predictions Tonight: Raptors Will Blow Out Brooklyn
Raptors Will Blow Out Brooklyn
With eight straight victories, the last one over the NBA‘s top team in the Houston Rockets, the Raptors are sailing in uncharted waters and are deep into the best season in franchise history. With a playoff spot already clinched, the Raptors are playing for something they have never played before: homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs.
With the Rockets and Golden State Warriors ahead by a few games, the Raptors need to win every game and hope the two Western powers slow down. Going against the Brooklyn Nets, this has the makings of a letdown game especially considering how their last game went (a one-point Raptors win). But the Raptors are relentless and the Nets need every help they can get to achieve their own goal: to win the NBA Draft Lottery.

NBA Lines: Blowouts Everywhere
Indiana at Philadelphia – Bet Pacers ATS (+6.0, -110)
The Indiana Pacers have quietly defied expectations and are sneaking into a top-three seed in the East. They’ve done this through solid team defence ranking second in defensive rating (99.6) in their last ten games and are 7-3 in that stretch. They are solid underdogs heading to Philadelphia and are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games including being 8-3 ATS against Philly.
The Sixers’ rebounding will be an issue for the smaller Pacers team but thankfully they are also one of the most efficient ranking fourth in the NBA in field goal percentage (47.6%) and fifth from three-point land (37.3%). Interestingly, they have outrebounded Philly cumulatively in their last three games. The Pacers have the Sixers’ number and should cover here.
Toronto at Brooklyn – Bet Raptors ATS (-9.5, -110)
Division games can be tricky to bet but bank on the Toronto Raptors to get the job done against the lowly Brooklyn Nets. Last game was an aberration as the Nets overachieved thanks to a season-high 31 points from Spencer Dinwiddie. The Raptors were up ten but gave it up and narrowly won in overtime with Kyle Lowry sustaining an injury.
On paper, the Raptors are better in almost every way but their key advantage lies in their field goal percentage. The Raptors are eighth (47.1) in the league and Brooklyn is dead-last (43.7). Add the assist-to-turnover ratio and rebounding edge for Toronto and this is a wrap.
LA Clippers at Chicago – Bet Clippers ATS (-6.5, -110)
The Chicago Bulls are making a solid run for that first overall pick. The Bulls are 3-7 in their last ten games and are 9-16-1 ATS against Western teams. The Los Angeles Clippers are playing for the playoffs and are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games against Chicago. All signs point to an easy Clippers’ victory.
The Clippers are a significantly better team on offence, ranked seventh in the league with a 108.0 rating while the Bulls’ defence is 25th with a 108.5 rating. The Clippers have a 52.9 per cent effective field goal percentage (9th) compared to the Bulls’ 50 per cent (28th). The Clippers will gun down Chicago in style.
Detroit at Utah – Bet Utah ATS (-8.5, -110)
The Utah Jazz, like the Pacers, are quietly playing a solid season and are in the playoff picture. They are 8-2 in their last ten games and although they are only 2-4 ATS at home, they match up well against the struggling Pistons. Detroit is 0-3 ATS against Utah and has a horrible 9-22 record on the road.
The Blake Griffin trade hasn’t panned out for Detroit as well as they are struggling to incorporate his game to Stan Van Gundy’s system. Detroit is 0-5 ATS on the road in their last five games. Going up against a Jazz team that has a penchant for exploding offensively is bad news. Utah rolls into an easy victory here.
Pistons and Utah Don’t Hit the Century Mark
Detroit at Utah (U +197.0, -110)
Fade the public who are betting the over here. In 11 of the last 12 meetings between both teams, the total score has gone under 200 and this includes their last meeting that went to overtime. Detroit’s 23rd-rated offence is also going up against the Jazz’s third-rated defence.
This could get ugly quickly as the Jazz lay waste to the Pistons who will struggle to put up points as they only scored 90 points or fewer in seven of their last 12 games. The two also play a slow-paced game as both are ranked in the bottom-third of the NBA.
