MLS Week 30 Predictions

MLS Week 30 Predictions
Last week featured a slew of exciting, high-scoring games that rewarded those who bet “over” quite handsomely. This week, most of the top sides in the MLS will square off against each other.

Few predicted that week 29 of the MLS season would end in a storm of goals. Of course, if you bet over on the majority of your games, there’s a good chance your wallet is a bit fatter. Expect competition to tighten considerably this week. Titanic matchups include Toronto FC and the Red Bulls, New York City FC against Dallas and other contests that will shape the race to the post season.

MLS Odds Week 30

Results / FixturesMLS

With teams like Columbus ignominiously dropping out of realistic contention, the MLS world will focus more on the remaining competitors. In the east, New York soccer teams are still trying to take advantage of a brief window of opportunity where Toronto will be without Giovinco. In the west, Dallas finds themselves fending off a challenge from the resurgent LA Galaxy. Since LA appears to have a slightly easier matchup, Dallas will need a stellar game against NYC FC to prevent the Galaxy from getting closer to the Supporters’ Shield.

Week 30 MLS Predictions

The picks of the week take a hard look at the race to the top of the standings. Potentially, the best value can be found by looking at teams who are most likely to overcome obstacles to winning.

LA Galaxy @ Sporting KC Prediction

BET LA @ +280 with Bodog Sportsbook - So far, it looks like one of the best values of the week involve the LA Galaxy, who look reinvigorated after a rousing comeback last week. Kansas also has the most home losses of playoff-bound teams in the league, while LA has the fewest road losses. The Galaxy should be able to deal with the road disadvantage, keeping them in the hunt for first overall.

New York Red Bulls @ Toronto FC Prediction

BET Toronto @ +130 with William Hill Sportsbook - Toronto impressed on the road, in particular Jozy Altidore, who lead the Reds attack to victory in the absence of the MLS MVP. The Red Bulls were less than impressive, dropping a two goal cushion to the mediocre United. Composed without their biggest star, the Reds should be able to defend their home field to maintain their eastern conference lead.

Dallas FC @ New York City FC Prediction

BET Dallas @ +240 with Bet365 Sportsbook - Dallas rested a couple of their top players, which some might allow as an excuse. However, the team should have been able to avoid a clean sheet at home against Colorado, considering their depth. Look for a bounce back performance against New York City FC, who appear kind of bored with soccer lately.

Houston Dynamo @ Real Salt Lake Prediction

BET Salt Lake @ -132 with BetOnline Sportsbook - The closest thing to a sure-fire, lock-of-the-week will be Real Salt Lake against Houston Dynamo. The Dynamo have won only once on the road and occupy the bottom of the MLS. Real Salt Lake has not lost at home, and still has a chance at a top two spot. Frankly, Salt Lake should feel shame if they lose.

Vancouver WhitecapsSeattle Sounders Prediction

BET Vancouver @ +355 with Sports Interaction Sportsbook - A potential odds upset with a solid payout could be Seattle and Vancouver. The game’s taking place in Seattle, which is a short ferry ride from Vancouver, allowing Whitecaps faithful to alter the home field advantage equation somewhat. Vancouver has also played well recently, scoring five goals and winning their last pair of road games. Seattle also has the most home losses of all MLS squads.
