MLB Playoff Parlay: Blue Jays and Mets are Championship Series Best Bets

MLB Playoff Parlay: Blue Jays and Mets are Championship Series Best Bets
A pair of teams are looking to get to within one win of advancing to the World Series during Major League Baseball postseason action today. The Kansas City Royals are aiming for a 3-1 ALCS advantage over the Toronto Blue Jays when they clash at the Rogers Centre at 4:05 PM ET. That contest is followed by the New York Mets trying to secure a 3-0 stranglehold lead in their NLCS battle versus the Chicago Cubs at 8:07 PM ET on October 20, 2015, at Wrigley Field. Our extensive research points to the Blue Jays squaring their series versus the Royals and the Mets mashing their way to a third straight win over the Cubs.

Blue Jays hot hitting will continue with Young on the bump

Kansas City came up short in their bid for yet another miraculous playoff comeback as they dropped an 11-8 decision to Toronto last night. Despite the Royals 15-11 hits advantage, this contest wasn’t as close as the final score indicates as Toronto was up 11-4 heading into the ninth inning. Back in the friendly confines of the Rodgers Centre – the Blue Jays bashed three homeruns and trimmed the Royals series lead to down to a 2-1 count. RHP R. A. Dickey faces RHP Chris Young in the rumble on the rubber and that matchup gives Toronto an advantage in this contest. With his knuckleball dancing, Dickey was brilliant as he allowed just two hits and zero runs during his only start against Kansas City this season – a 5-2 win in Toronto back on August 2. Young allowed three runs, on five hits over six innings, during the Royals 6-2 home loss in his only start vs the Blue Jays on July 11.

New York vs Chicago: Facing deGrom the Cubs are in tough versus the Mets tonight

Things are going from bad to worse for Chicago. Following a 4-2 series opening loss to New York, Cubs ace Jake Arrieta was roughed up in Game 2 as the Mets posted a 4-1 win to build a 2-0 NLCS lead. Now the Cubbies face the unenviable task of trying to beat RHP Jacob deGrom in what is a near must win situation. Stellar more often than not during the regular season, deGrom has been even better in the playoffs as he went 2-0 against the Dodgers – allowing two runs and 11 hits over 13 innings pitched. If the Cubs are looking for a silver lining they can point towards their 2-0 regular season record against deGrom. RHP Kyle Hendricks, who gave up three runs on four hits over 4.2 innings pitched in his NLDS start against the Cardinals, gets the call for Chicago. Hendricks pitched six innings and gave up three hits during the Cubs 1-0 win in New York on June 30.

MLB Playoff Parlay Prediction: Based on overall numbers, Toronto and New York both have an edge on the bump in these battles today. After losing two straight to the Texas Rangers during the ALDS, Toronto bounced back with three wins in a row so they have been there – done that. deGrom has been almost flawless in his last four outings and we see that trend continuing in Chicago. Getting fairly decent prices on the Blue Jays and Mets, we will tie them together with a 300 unit wager on the money line odds posted on the MLB betting board at SportsInteraction. We will also back New York alone with a 500 unit wager on their money line price tonight.
