Montreal Canadiens Odds To Win The Stanley Cup 2017

Montreal Canadiens Odds To Win The Stanley Cup 2017
Reload don’t rebuild. That has been the Montreal mantra for over a century as the Canadiens are perennial NHL playoff contenders. That is illustrated by the fact that the Habs have missed the postseason in back-to-back years just twice since 1968. Both misses occurred over a three-year drought from 1999 to 2001. Les Habitants are well on their way to attending the 2017 second season party.

Habs Outright Winners Odds 2017

Part of the Great Canadian Crash, Montreal missed the postseason along with the other six Great White North Crews for the first time since 1970 last season. Four of those squads, five if Toronto keeps rolling, will get back to the NHL playoffs this year. Montreal leads the Canuck contingent with the top NHL Championship futures odds. Even though Ottawa is bearing down on them, the Habs lead is just one point in the Atlantic Division; Montreal’s +1400 line is quite a bit smaller than the Senators +2000 ML price. Here are the latest lines from the Stanley Cup specialists at Bodog.

Montreal Canadiens Bodog NHL Stanley Cup Odds

Montreal and Ottawa are just 168 kilometers apart, as the crow flies, and their Border Battle will be raging this weekend. During what could be an Atlantic Division defining series, the Habs and Sens are meeting for the third and fourth time this season. Canadian Tire Centre is the stage on Saturday and then the scene shifts to the Bell Centre in Quebec on Sunday. A sweep by either side would be huge – especially for Ottawa as they posted a pair of 4-3 wins during the first two games between these cross-.provincial rivals. Then, on 25/03/17, Montreal will host the final season series matchup.

Eastern Conference winning prices have Montreal with a +700 money line. Washington (+225) Pittsburgh (+375) and Columbus (+650) lead the way while New York at (+750) is right behind the Habs at Bodog. We expect the East playoff series will have a Conference Final feel in the air. There’s a lot more in the air over the next three weeks as the MBL is warming up, the NBA is well into their playoff stretch run and there are lots of March Madness betting picks to choose from. Our March 17 best bets feature the Senators vs Canadiens battle this weekend so check that out here at CBS.

StatsGuru Scenario: Storming out of the NHL 2016-17 starting gate, with a 13-1-1 start, Montreal has been a Jekyll & Hyde Crew since as they are 26-22-7 during their last 55 games. Those numbers are better than they appear thanks to a recent 7-2-0 hot streak by the Habs. If Montreal wins the Atlantic Division, they will face New York in the first round Quarterfinals. The Habs will take that, as they are 6-1-0 over their last seven battles with the Rangers. Montreal faces a tall task just to escape the Eastern Conference so are we are looking elsewhere for our Stanley Cup Champion squad.

Montreal Canadiens Odds to Make the Playoffs

Following lots of preseason moves, plus some radical in-season changes, the Canadiens are poised to get back to the big dance as they are currently sitting in first place in the Atlantic Division. Any team backed by an All-Star netminder, like Carey Price, deserves postseason consideration. There is still a lot to be decided but the Canadiens playoff chances are rock solid at this point. Montreal is sitting with a magic number of eight to secure at least a Wild Card playoff position. That berth can be claimed with a combination of four wins plus fours losses by both the Lightning and Islanders.
