Champions League Picks April 18, 2017
It seems as if the Madrid teams are destined to go far in this competition again. Perhaps it is a mixture of fortune and opportunity but whatever it is, Atletico and Real Madrid seize the day when the Champions League rolls around. This Tuesday April 18th, at 2:45pm EST the capital of Spain looks to send two teams to the semifinals once again.
Leicester Atletico Madrid Leg 2 Prediction
No matter how you chose to approach the 1st leg if the general sense you had was that Atleti would win a low scoring game, you profited. Now heading to England with a 1 goal lead, it is hard to see a wide open game. We go to the well once more.
UNDER 2.5 GOALS (-150)
The identity of this Atletico Madrid team under Simeone is a team that keeps clean sheets. Now away from home with a lead they can play to their strength, which is also Leicester’s weakness – Possession. With Leicester being built for the counter attack, Atleti will let them have the ball at home and force them to break them down as they sit deep.
Expect hard tackles, fouls and yellow cards, but not too many goals.
Real Madrid Bayern Munich Leg 2 Prediction
Bayern Munich had Real Madrid on the ropes last week, and botched it. After missing a penalty that would have made it 2-0 right before the stroke of halftime, they gave up a goal to Ronaldo, got a red card, and then gave up another goal to Ronaldo. Now they head to Spain down 2-1 and need to score at least 2 goals to have any shot at advancing.
DO NOT BET THIS GAME UNTIL THE STARTING LINEUPS ARE OUT: Bayern will need a fit Lewandowski and Hummels and Boateng to have a shot. Without Boateng and Hummels, Real should be able to breach their defence especially since Bayern are forced to score 2 goals. With a fully fit squad it will be fire fight. Perhaps this can be a chance to grab multiple units.
If both squads have their A1 Lineups I can see this game being 1-1 or 2-2 in the second half with Bayern pressing for a late goal only to come up short. But until we know who plays this game is unbeatable.
