CFL Picks Week 4

CFL Picks Week 4
Week 4 of the Canadian Football League season is upon us! Twelve contests are now in the books, during the race to Grey Cup 105, and our main takeaway is the West is best while the East have the least. We endured a very rough ride during Week 3 action but that can happen in the sometimes unpredictable CFL. Week 4 opens with Toronto visiting Winnipeg at 8:30 PM ET on July 13, 2017.

CFL Football Games This Week

Except for the contest in Canada’s Capital, favorites dominated the Week 3 CFL betting boards as British Columbia, Calgary and Saskatchewan all posted victories as chalk. Toronto was the lone winning pup as the Argonauts stunned the defending Champion RedBlacks at home. The Stamps and Lions won low scoring contests, 39 was the total in both of those matches, before the Argos and ‘Riders claimed victory in high scoring battles where 51 and 57 points were scored respectively.

Friday Night doubleheader action follows the Argos versus Blue Bombers battle that will play out at Investors Group Field in Manitoba. Calgary at Montreal has a 7:00 PM ET kickoff before Edmonton hosts Ottawa at 10:00 PM ET on July 14 in the Alberta Capital. Our lone Saturday slugfest features winless Hamilton hosting British Columbia at 7:30 PM ET on July 15, 2017. Saskatchewan, who are savouring their first ever win at new Mosaic Stadium, will certainly enjoy their Week 4 BYE.

CFL Predictions Today and Week 3 Review

We stumbled and fell to a losing record during Week 3 CFL action. Laying the ATS price to back BC in Montreal got us off to a nice start as the Lions scored late (again) to secure a 23-16 victory. It was all downhill from there though as our lost faith in the Stampeders, a lack of trust in the Argos, and over-calculating the Tiger-Cats chances, sent us to 1-3 straight up and against the spread marks. That moves us to 7-4-1 SU and 5-7-0 ATS twelve games into the season. Let’s get back on track!

  • Toronto at Winnipeg Pick: Blue Bombers -3 (-115) ATS at Bodog

Positive surprises, early in the CFL campaign, include Toronto as the Argos were overall underdogs on CSB Grey Cup futures board prior to Week 1 action. After a close 26-25 win in Ottawa, the Boatman sail into Winnipeg to battle the Blue Bombers who dropped a 29-10 decision to Calgary during their home opener. A botched extra point attempt by the Redblacks gifted the Argos their one-point win while the Blue Bombers were shut out in the second half by the Stamps. Still not sold on the Argonauts, we are laying the -3 (-115) ATS price at Bodog to back the Bombers at home.

Final Score: Winnipeg Blue Bombers 33-25

  • Calgary at Montreal Pick: Stampeders -4.5 (-110) ATS at William Hill

On the road for a second straight week, Calgary rolls into Montreal to open the Friday Night CFL doubleheader. Despite a rash of injuries, Calgary flexed their muscles on defense and held a potent Winnipeg offense to just ten second quarter points last week. Montreal lost a second straight match as they gave up 14 fourth quarter points and dropped a 23-16 decision versus the BC Lions. After losing with the Stamps twice – we jumped off the bandwagon and that cost us in Week 3. Feeling Calgary will cruise here – lay the Stampeders -4.5 (-110) ATS line at the William Hill sportsbook.

Final Score: Montreal Alouettes 30-23

  • Ottawa at Edmonton Pick: RedBlacks +4.5 (-110) ATS at Bet365

Looking for their first win of the season, defending Grey Cup Champion Ottawa is in Edmonton to close out the Friday Night CFL double-dip. The RedBlacks (0-2-1) have a tie and loss vs Calgary and they fumbled their way to defeat versus the Argos last week. Following wins over BC and Montreal, the Eskimos (2-0-0) enjoyed a Week 3 BYE. Edmonton is without their top running back, and two best linebackers, while Ottawa is desperate for a win. Sensing Edmonton will claim a close contest, we are taking the +4.5 (-110) point spread price posted at Bet365 and riding with the RedBlacks.

Final Score: Edmonton Eskimos 23-21

Week 4 CFL action comes to a close with winless Hamilton (0-2-0) hosting British Columbia (2-1-0) who have won two straight contests. Lackluster on offense (17.5 PPG) and brutal on defense (34.5 PPG) the Tiger-Cats have shown very little fight during their first two games. The Lions have posted 48 of their 78 total points in the fourth quarter so far this season. Dating back to October 2015, BC is 11-1 versus the East Division and that includes an eight game winning streak. SportsInteraction has posted the Lions as chalk, at -3.5 (-110) ATS, and we’re betting on British Columbia staying hot.

Final Score: British Columbia Lions 41-26

Canadian Cappers Should Be Betting Here

Speaking of hot – the sportsbooks recommended here at Canada Sports Betting are really heating up now that the MLB All-Star is break over. The Boys of Summer head into the second half of the season and the Fall Classic race is going to be a thrilling run. SportsInteraction is forecasting a Los Angeles Dodgers vs Houston Astros World Series battle and those two teams are currently sitting at the top our MLB futures board. Stacked with great pitching, plus powerful offense, it is tough to argue against either of those squads but Washington and Boston are MLB Title contenders as well.

Fans of American Football can begin preparing for the exciting 2017 NFL season as top linemakers have posted Super Bowl LII futures odds along with hundreds of team and player props. Though it seems way too early, NFL Week 1 money lines, point spreads and game totals are already up on the boards at the Canada focused online sportsbooks listed below.
