CFL Picks Week 11

CFL Picks Week 11
Are you ready for this? It is commonly agreed that the race to the CFL Grey Cup doesn’t begin until Labour Day Weekend. Gentleman get on your marks! Week 11 is upon us and the postseason positioning battles are about as close as they can get. Ottawa visits Montreal to get the action going at 7:30 PM ET on August 31, 2017, at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Quebec. Let's get to the picks!

CFL Football Games This Week

Teams headed in opposite directions open the CFL Week 11 slate as the Redblacks have won two straight while the Alouettes have dropped two in a row. The schedule gets strange after that as we do not have games on Friday or Saturday this week. The action picks up when white-hot Winnipeg visits Saskatchewan at 4:00 PM ET on September 1, at Mosaic Stadium. Labour Day features two bitter rivalry battles as Calgary hosts Edmonton at 3:00 PM ET and then Toronto heads to Hamilton for a 6:30 PM ET kickoff on Monday, September 4, 2017. BC finally gets a much needed Bye week.

Both CFL Divisions feature close battles at the top – even though one is more about futility than anything else. The top three teams in the West are tightly bunched as Calgary (7-1-1) leads the way with 15 points while the Blue Bombers and Eskimos are both 7-2-0 and just one point behind the Stampeders. The race in the East is being waged by teams with losing records as Toronto is on top with a 4-6-0 mark, while Ottawa is 3-6-1 and Montreal is 3-6-0. Even Hamilton, sitting with a 0-8-0 record, has an outside shot as the Tiger-Cats are just seven points out of a postseason position.

CSB Money Line & ATS Week 10 Results: 3-1-0 and 3-1-0 Overall: 29-10-1 and 22-17-2

CFL Predictions Today and Week 10 Review

Three contests, good for our bankroll but bad for our heart, plus a blowout loss earned us a 3-1 SU and ATS Week 10 record. Winnipeg blew two ten point leads before putting away the Alouettes 34-31 in overtime. That was followed by an embarrassing loss as the Roughriders ran roughshod over the Eskimos and crushed them 54-31 at Mosaic Stadium. Ottawa was outscored 21-0 in the fourth quarter but held on to post a 31-24 win over British Columbia. Although dicey at times, Calgary covered the ten point ATS line as the Stamps topped Toronto 23-7 to close out our week.

  • Ottawa at Montreal Pick: Redblacks EVEN (-110) ATS at Bodog

Battling back into the East Division playoff race, defending CFL Champion Ottawa has won two in a row (over Hamilton and BC) by a combined 68-42 count.  Looking like they may contend for a seat at the postseason party, after stifling the Argos 21-9 during Week 8 action, Montreal has lost two straight contests. The Redblacks appear to getting things together on both sides of the ball while the Alouettes have morphed into a Jekyll and Hyde squad. Bodog bookmakers have posted this as a Pick ‘Em match and we feel that is a little generous to Montreal = Back the Grey Cup Champs.

Final Score: Ottawa Redblacks 32-4

  • Winnipeg at Saskatchewan Pick: Blue Bombers +3 (-115) ATS at SportsInteraction

Following what could have been a crippling 45-42 Week 5 loss to the BC Lions – Winnipeg has rattled off five straight wins. The Bombers let a 42-27 fourth quarter lead slip away in that contest and fell to 2-2 at that point in the season. ‘Rider Nation is also on the rise as Saskatchewan has moved past a 2-4-0 start with two straight wins. Although they came vs teams that are regressing, the ‘Riders are full marks for their 41-8 and 45-31 wins over BC and Edmonton. We like Winnipeg to win outright here so we’ll gladly take the +2.5 (-105) ATS head start at SportsInteraction.

Final Score: Saskatchewan Roughriders 38-24

  • Edmonton at Calgary Pick: Eskimos +11 (-110) ATS at William Hill

Labour Day Monday re-fires the CFL version of the Battle of Alberta as Edmonton and Calgary clash in a pivotal West Division duel. The Stamps have been on a roll – winning five in a row by a 172-59 margin. The 172 PF is slightly skewed, by the 60 points they scored vs Hamilton, but the 11.8 PPG allowed is impressive. Injuries have caught up with the Eskimos as they have lost two straight by a 87-57 final count. Calgary swept this series last year (45-24 and 34-28) but the monster line here shocks us. We like the Stamps SU but we are taking the +11 (-110) ATS line at William Hill.

Final Score: Calgary Stampeders 39-18

  • Toronto at Hamilton Pick: Argonauts -4.5 (-110) ATS at Bet365

All over the map, halfway through the season, Toronto is 4-6-0 and the Argos own a one point lead over Ottawa in the dreadful East. That’s the straight dope folks, as the East is sporting a 10-26-1 record while the West has a 30-14-1 mark. Off to an 0-8-0 start, the hole that Hamilton is digging keeps getting deeper. The Johnny Manziel/Art Briles controversies (BS) have added to the Tiger-Cats nightmare. On the field, the Cats don’t have claws as they’ve been outscored by a 39-19 count. Liking the Argos SU and ATS – we will swallow the -4.5 (-110) Bet365 ATS odds and back Toronto.

Final Score: Hamilton Tiger-Cats 24-22

Championship Futures Bookmakers In Canada

Despite losing two straight, and looking vulnerable in the process, Edmonton is still second chalk to win the 2017 Grey Cup Game. Based on a real possibility of the Stamps sweeping the Eskimos, during their home-and-home series, the time to back a Calgary Grey Cup Championship is now. If the Stamps do turn the double, they will be on the same level as the New England Patriots who are runaway favorites on the CSB Super Bowl LII futures board. MLS is also a hot ticket as Toronto FC is leading the way with the playoffs just eight weeks away. Is the MLS Cup coming to Canada?

Major League Baseball is heading into the home stretch and Fall Classic odds are changing regularly. That’s particularly true with bottom feeders as they are rapidly being eliminated from MLB playoff contention. It is a rare year as there isn’t much drama in the MLB playoff races – save for the AL and NL Wild Card battles. Bettor’s are advised that World Series contender prices will lose value as we head towards October. Slumbering, during their offseason, the NBA and NHL are getting close to preseason activities and things are about to get crazy busy at these top ranked online sportsbooks.
