2016 NFC East Futures Betting Lines
This is going to be a tight race, as all four of these teams have made the necessary moves to become contenders. There’s no outliers in this group who lack the talent to win. The main factor is going to be if Tony Romo is out for the season for the Dallas Cowboys, and how well Dak Prescott can replace him. After a disastrous season last year, the Cowboys could surprise us this time around with Dak. As it stands now, Romo has a broken bone in his back and will be out at least 6-10 weeks.
If Romo eventually plays, we won’t see another 4-12 showing, but I would expect a mediocre year, hovering around 8-8, or 9-7. Definitely not enough to win the division. TE Jason Witten is also getting up there in age along with other key members of the team. New RB Ekekiel Elliott could be their wild card, along with Prescott. If they can get that offense going, they might have a chance to clinch second place in the division, but will most likely end up disappointing like they have been prone to do in recent years. With a new QB and RB, Dallas will be dominant again in a couple of years, though.
2016 NFL NFC East Outright Betting Lines
The New York Giants under Ben McAdoo could prove to be a better bet. Eli Manning and wide receivers Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham have been inconsistent, but look for them to get by a struggling Cowboys team. After his brother’s Super Bowl victory last year, be sure that Eli is thirsty to get another shot at a title. This is a team that will be undervalued throughout the season, and will merit some spread plays. The line will change on this depending on Romo, but the Giants at +250 will be our primary play.
Bet New York Giants +250 On Sports Interaction
The Washington Redskins have a decent shot as well, coming in at +300. They won the NFC East last season, as a +1000 dog. Could they repeat? It’s not looking likely. They lack the depth to be able to win the division a second time in a row. They have an injury prone core, and when we get deeper into the season, and players get worn out, this team doesn’t have the replacement tools and will falter. Whether they rank 2nd or 3rd with Dallas is up for debate, but they certainly don’t have what’s necessary to achieve first again.
2016/17 NFL Schedule and Betting Lines
The lowly Philadelphia Eagles are actually getting a respectful line by the books. At +500, they aren’t that far off of being in the running. The problem is that this is much to overvalued. Unless the books know something, this line seems to be off and it’s best to stay away from it. Perhaps they overachieve and get to 2nd place in the NFC East, but even so, this would not be a smart bet. We won’t be neglecting them ATS though. For now, take the New York Giants at +250 at Sports Interaction to win the NFC East.
