The Viral Roundup – The Prime Time Of Your Life Edition
The Cardinals top the Vikes in primetime, the Thunder win another at home and Dana White has Rousey/Holm II in mind for this summer. Here's the minty fresh world of sports you're waking up to on December 11, 2015.

Did You Hear?

Carson Palmer racked up 310 yards through the air and two touchdowns as Arizona squeaked by Minnesota 23-20 on Thursday night. Chandler Catanzaro kicked the game-winning field goal with less than two minutes remaining to pull the Cardinals (a ten point home favourite) to an 11-2 record on the year and a playoff berth. The Vikings fall to 8-5 on the year.

Did You See?

It’s a colossal week/weekend for the UFC. The mixed martial arts giant is holding three consecutive events over three days. Last night saw UFC’s Fight Night card from Las Vegas, with The Ultimate Fighter finale going down tonight and UFC 194 caps things off on Saturday night. Conor McGregor is pegged as a slight -110 featherweight favourite to defeat Jose Aldo and turn his interim belt into the real deal. Meanwhile, middleweight champ Chris Weidman enters the Octagon this weekend as a -135 favourite versus challenger Luke Rockhold. Care to get caught up on some of the finer points of the main event? Check out this preview co-starring Dan Barry and John Gooden.

Did You Know?

– The Thunder improved to 10-3 at home on Thursday night when OKC thumping the visiting Hawks 107-94. Kevin Durant had a huge game with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in the win. Kent Bazemore scored 22 off the bench for Atlanta in a losing cause. The Thunder entered the game a seven-and-a-half point favourite.

– The Flyers nabbed a valuable two points in Missouri last night. Claude Giroux notched a goal and two assists to power Philly (a +150 road underdog) to a 4-2 victory over the Blues. Michal Neuvirth made 35 stops for the Flyers and Matt Read scored his fifth of the year in the win. Next up for the black and orange is a date with Dallas tonight.

– Alexander Semin’s brief run in Montreal was a disaster, but the Russian sniper is looking for a revival in the KHL. Semin, who was placed on unconditional waivers this week, has reportedly sorted out a deal with Metallurg Magnitogorsk for the remainder of their season. The 31-year-old forward previously came to fame as a threat with the Washington Capitals, but his output has diminished over the years and he became a regular healthy scratch for the Habs.

– UFC prez Dana White is adamant that Holly Holm’s next fight will be against former bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey. White made his feelings known in the Los Angeles Times after an earlier report came out that Holm would like to face title contender Miesha Tate next. Rousey’s recovery and previous commitments have raised questions about how early the world would see the MMA superstar return to the Octagon.
