With Wild Card Weekend action now complete, following a couple of blowouts and two very wild games, Bodog has adjusted their Super 50 futures prices. We have new overall National Football League Championship chalk as the Arizona Cardinals now own the favorites perch over New England who retained their playoff-opening price. Let’s take a look at the updated futures lines as we creep closer to Divisional Weekend postseason action that kicks off with the Patriots hosting the Kansas City Chiefs at 4:35 PM ET on January 16, 2016.
New England Patriots: Champs retain top chalk status in the AFC
Despite a rash of injuries, which contributed to the Patriots 2-4 late-season meltdown, defending champion New England is still the top AFC favorite and they are second overall amongst the eight remaining contenders. Denver saw their price shrink as they maintained their second chalk slot while Kansas City jumped Pittsburgh and is now the third favorite in the AFC. Injuries continue to be a big story as key players will be missing or playing at less than 100% on all four AFC squads. The Steelers have bottomed out largely due to Antonio Brown and DeAngelo Williams being unlikely to play on Sunday and Ben Roethlisberger being less than 100% with a shoulder injury.
Arizona Cardinals: Soaring Red Birds go from longshots to the top favorites perch
They’ve come a long baby. After being tagged with a +4000 Super Bowl 50 price at Bodog back in August, the number on Arizona has been steadily dropping ever since. Though it’s taken a while, the Cardinals were still priced at +1200 six weeks into the season, Arizona is now the top overall favorite with a +425 money line price. The pre-playoff odds have risen slightly for both Carolina and Seattle as one of those teams will head home after their clash in Charlotte on Sunday. Though their price has been cut almost in half – the Packers join the Steelers as Super Bowl 50 longshots.
Super Bowl 50 Futures Odds Betting Update: Our previously placed Carolina Panthers Super Bowl selection hits a slight hurdle with the Seahawks coming to town this weekend. Although we still like Carolina – we’ll hedge our Panthers futures bet with a 500 unit wager on the Arizona Cardinals.
