St Louis Cardinals: Ruling the National League Central top perch

Cruising along with the best record in baseball, St. Louis (42-12) leads the NL Central by six games over Pittsburgh. A solid 9-4 mark in June has helped the Cardinals build the largest divisional lead in the Majors. St. Louis sends their ace RHP Michael Wacha (8-2 ERA 2.45) to the bump in this contest today. The Cardinals have a 10-2 record when Wacha toes the rubber and he has allowed two runs or less nine of his twelve starts. The Red Birds are riding a four game winning streak that includes a 3-2 victory in the opener of this four game series versus Minnesota last night.

Minnesota Twins: Tumbling downward after a red hot MLB season start

Playing well above expectations to open their season, the Twins were tagged a +8000 money line to capture the MLB World Series back in March; Minnesota is in the midst of a major meltdown. Minnesota posted an unexpected 30-19 record through the first two months of the season but they are just 4-10 since the beginning of June. The Twins recent tumble has pushed Minnesota into second place in the AL Central as they are now 2.5 games behind Kansas City and just a half game ahead of Detroit. Struggling through two June starts, allowing ten runs (9 earned) over 13 innings pitched, RHP Kyle Gibson (4-4 ERA 3.24) gets the call for Minnesota.

Twins vs Cardinals MLB Call: If Wacha’s 8-2 record doesn’t impress you – take a look at his numbers in day game starts. The Cards ace has allowed three earned runs over 32 innings pitched when the sun is shining – good for a microscopic 0.84 ERA. Not trusting the St. Louis bats, the Cardinals are ranked 22nd overall with 250 runs scored, we are staying away from the run line here. Instead, we will soar with the Red Birds and a 500 unit wager on the Bet365 money line
