San Francisco Giants: Stalled despite NL West rivals stumbles

Riding a 4-6 recent run, San Francisco is 38-33 overall and they trail the Dodgers by one game in the NL West – even though Los Angeles is also slumping with a 3-7 record over their last ten games. Giants ace LHP Madison Bumgarner (7-4 ERA 3.09) heads to the hill looking for some run support from his mates here. Despite giving up three runs, over 16 innings pitched, San Francisco has lost Bumgarners’ last two starts 1-0 to the Arizona Diamondbacks and 2-0 to the Seattle Mariners.

San Diego Padres: After a hot start to the month the Friars have hit a June swoon

Following a 5-2 start to begin June, that pushed them a game above .500, San Diego has hit the skids as they are just 4-9 over their last 13 games. The Padres are 34-38 overall and the Friars have fallen into fourth place in the NL West as they are 5.5 games behind the Dodgers. Pitching is a problem for the Padres as their 301 runs scored has been countered with 328 runs against. RHP Odrisamer Despaigne (3-5 ERA 4.29) has experienced a rough ride in June as he has allowed 12 runs, on 24 hits over 18.1 innings pitched, during three starts – all San Diego losses.

Padres vs Giants MLB Game Day Call: Although he hasn’t consistently displayed his usual lock down form so far this season, we get a pitching advantage with Bumgarner (2-2 ERA 2.53 over seven starts at home) on the bump here. This is especially true when you consider that Despaigne is 1-3 with a 6.00 ERA during six outings away from Petco Park. We are backing the Giants with a 1000 unit wager on the money line odds posted on the betting board at SportsInteraction.
