St. Louis Cardinals: Continue to be the best in baseball

Poised to win over 100 games this season, St. Louis continues as the cream of the MLB crop. The Cardinals (70-39) have opened up a 5.5 game lead in the overall standings over the Kansas City Royals and they are six up on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Central chase. The Red Birds have been soaring as they are 14-6 since the All- Star break. We talk about a lot but – the solid mix of quality offense and lights out pitching continues to be the Cards recipe for sweet success.

Milwaukee Brewers: Playing out the string on a season doomed from the start

Although they did show some fight, Milwaukee straddled the All-Star break with a 14-4 record, the Brewers bubble has popped. Losing some key pieces at the MLB trade deadline further limits the Brewers production as Carlos Gomez, Mike Friers and Gerardo Parra have all moved on the greener pastures. The Brew Crew are on a 5-12 tumble including a 6-0 loss in the series opener last night as Milwaukee managed just six hits and struck out ten times during a fairly weak effort.

Brewers vs Cardinal MLB Call: St. Louis has the pitching edge here as LHP Jamie Garcia (3-4 ERA 1.98) faces Milwaukee RHP Willy Peralta (2-6 ERA 4.55) in the rumble on the rubber. We are jumoping on the morning line odds on this contest as they are sure to go up as game time approaches. Soar with the Red Birds and 500 unit wager on the money line odds posted at Bodog.
