Arizona vs Detroit: Coyotes and Red Wings Meet in the Motor City

Arizona vs Detroit: Coyotes and Red Wings Meet in the Motor City
Continuing a five-game road trip, the Arizona Coyotes are in the Motor City to face the Detroit Red Wings in National Hockey League action tonight. The young Yotes are one of the better stories in the NHL season as they are third in the Pacific Division while the Red Wings are creating some buzz of their own and sit second in the Atlantic Division. Puck drop for this NHL Western vs Eastern Conference clash is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET on December 3, 2015, from the Joe Louis Arena in Hockeytown, USA. Ride the Red Wings here.

Red Wings have gained a lot of extra time points recently

Streaky through a 5-5-1 run during October, the Red Wings earned at least point in ten of their thirteen matches in November as they finished the month with a 7-3-3 record. Detroit has played to extra time during seven of their last eight games including a 5-4 shootout win at home versus Buffalo on Tuesday. While the points are certainly welcome, the Red Wings need to be better at closing out contests as they have allowed a game tying goal in the third period in their last five matches. Always reloading, and never rebuilding, Red Wings are young and exciting club.

Arizona Coyotes: Solid November has the Yotes in a Western Conference playoff position

Heading into the 2015-16 NHL season, expectations were low in the desert as Arizona was tagged with +15000 Stanley Cup Championship odds on the NHL futures boards. Seemingly always embroiled in ownership and team relocation controversy, the young Coyotes have blocked out the noise as they’ve posted a decent 13-10-1 season start and sit third in the Pacific Division. Whether they can stay in the race, while being chased by teams like Anaheim and Vancouver, remains to be seen. The Pacific Division is rather weak so consistent play could get the Coyotes to the postseason.

Detroit vs Arizona NHL Prediction: Jimmy Howard (6-4-1 GAA 2.40) facing Mike Smith (10-6-1 GAA 2.89) is a fairly even netminding matchup in this contest tonight. This is the first of two meetings between these clubs this season. The Coyotes won 5-4 (OT) in Detroit while the Red Wings won 3-2 in Arizona to split the season series last year. Arizona has lost four of their last five on the road including a 5-2 drubbing in Nashville on Tuesday. Detroit is playing the fifth contest of a six-game homestand during which they have posted a 2-0-2 record. Ride the Red Wings with a 500 unit wager on the money line odds posted on the NHL betting board at SportsInteraction.
