Vancouver vs Anaheim: Canucks and Ducks Clash in a NHL Pacific Division Duel

Vancouver vs Anaheim: Canucks and Ducks Clash in a NHL Pacific Division Duel
National Hockey League Western Conference rivals clash when the Anaheim Ducks host the Vancouver Canucks as part of a light four-game night on the NHL betting board at the BetOnline sportsbook tonight. Struggling is the best way to describe the season start for both of these squads as the Ducks and Canucks are on the outside looking in on the Pacific Division playoff race. Meeting for the second time this season, puck drop for this West Coast rivalry contest is slated for 10:00 PM ET on November 30, 2015, at the Honda Center.

Vancouver Canucks: Solid October start has stalled in November

Earning 14 of a possible 22 points in October, thanks to a solid 5-2-4 season start, Vancouver has stumbled to a 4-6-3 record during a sluggish 14 game run in November. Giving credit where credit is due – the Canucks are battling hard as twelve of their 15 regulation and extra time losses have been by just one goal. When Vancouver is on – they are really on – as their nine victories have been by a 37-15 combined final count. Sitting with a 9-8-7 overall record, the Canucks 25 points has Vancouver just one point out of a Wild Card playoff position in the NHL Western Conference

Anaheim Ducks: Talent laden squad has stumbled badly out of the NHL starting gate

Following a disastrous 1-7-2 run through October, Anaheim has picked up the pace somewhat as the Ducks are 7-4-3 during 13 contests in November. That said, the talent laden SoCal Crew is still playing well below expectations and they have lost two in a row – 4-2 to the Coyotes in Arizona on Wednesday and 3-2 (OT) at home against Chicago on Friday. Scoring has been a huge problem for Anaheim as their 46 goals (1.92 GPG) is second worst total in the NHL. The Ducks have been decent on defense as they are tied for twelfth with Vancouver allowing 2.67 goals per game.

Anaheim vs Vancouver NHL Prediction: The Canucks have an edge in the goaltending duel here as Ryan Miller (7-7-6 GAA 2.48) faces John Gibson (1-1-1 GAA 2.46) in the netminding matchup tonight. Miller has been a workhorse for the Canucks while Gibson, who was recently called up from the AHL San Diego Gulls, is in for Frederik Anderson who is out as he’s battling a flu bug. Following a stretch where they posted a 1-6-3 record versus the Ducks, the Canucks have won two in row by identical 2-1 scores – including the first meeting back on November 12 this season. Given the Canucks run of one-goal games, plus the Ducks struggles on offense, we are taking the pucks here. Back Vancouver with a 500 unit wager on spread price posted on the BetOnline sportsbook.
