American Pharoah Begins His Journey to the Breeders’ Cup Classic

American Pharoah Begins His Journey to the Breeders’ Cup Classic
Returning to the track for the first time since he wowed the world with his thrilling Triple Crown Championship, super-horse American Pharoah is one of the biggest stories during what is a very busy weekend of fantastic sports betting action. The Ruler of the Racetrack begins his path to the 2015 Breeders’ Cup Classic during the 48th running of the William Hill Haskell Invitational. A field of seven 3-year olds break from the gate at 5:52 PM ET on August 2, 2015, at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, NJ. William Hill, who signed on to sponsor The Haskell in 2013, must be thrilled with their sponsorship choice.

American Pharoah Phanatics pack The Shore’s Greatest Stretch

Phans of the Pharoah are expected in record numbers as the Triple Crown Champ aims for his eighth straight win during the USD $1.75 million G1 William Hill Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park on Sunday. Although there were some very rich paths to choose from, Del Mar was rumored to be considering a USD $5 million bonus to keep American Pahroah in California, the Triple Crown Champion lands in a fairly soft spot with a run in the Haskell. Trainer Bob Baffert rules in this Jersey Shore classic as he has won it seven times including the 7¼ length romp by Bayern last year.

Six shooters are aiming for the Place and Show Breeders’ Cup Championship points

As part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge series, this is a “win and you’re in” race as the winner receives a guaranteed entry into the Breeders’ Cup Classic. The season ending Championships will be held on October 30 & 31, 2015, at the Keenland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky. American Pahroah has already qualified but six Classic points go to the second place finisher and four points go to the horse claiming the Show money during the Haskell. Keen Ice earned four points towards the Classic by placing third in the Belmont Stakes. The six points earned with a Haskell place result would move this Dale L. Romans trained son of Curlin several steps closer to Kentucky.

48th William Hill Haskell Invitational Prediction: Super-horse American Pharoah first caught our attention during his eight-length score in the Arkansas Derby back on April 11, 2015. We certainly enjoyed padding our bankroll during his Triple Crown Championship journey. With all due respect to Keen Ice, and to a slightly lesser degree Competitive Edge and Upstart, we can’t find any truth in the rumor that American Pharoah will run backwards to give the other seven horses a more level racing surface. We will key wheel #4 American Pharoah plus #2 Competitive Edge and #6 Keen Ice with a $10 trifecta wager on the track odds posted at the William Hill sportsbook.
