MotoGP Futures: Odds And Predictions 2021

MotoGP Futures: Odds And Predictions 2021

We’re back! Last year was a season full of unpredictable results and general craziness. The 2020 season started in Jerez, with eight-time World Champion Marc Marquez breaking his arm in a gobsmacking crash which ended his attempt at a 9th title for that year.

But, now he’s back, with many wondering if the crash will have affected his ability to compete as he’s always done. The crash allowed someone other than Marquez or Lorenzo to get their hands on the MotoGP title for the first time in a decade.

It was the Spaniard Joan Mir who lifted the title last year, but will he be in with a shot of retaining it against this field of riders? The season is going to begin as the world seems to be in the ascendency, after a year of what has been a fairly dreary way of life for the majority of us.

There are some great rookies in the game this year too, with Luca Marini and Jorge Martin among the best. We can see them punching around the top spots for races throughout the season. But, it’s all eyes on Marquez, who will miss out on the first two races in Qatar as he continues to recover from his injury sustained last season.

Our team of In-house betting and motorsport experts await the release of the MotoGP odds for the 2021 season but have made predictions as to how things will likely pan out as the season rolls on. Marquez to return and make it a ninth title

If Marquez was just beginning the season, not recovering from a major crash and injury, we’d expect him to walk the season. However, there is a certain “what if” surrounding his return to the circuit.

We expect to see the very best of the Spaniard once again this year. However, the season hasn’t even gotten underway and we’re already looking at the 8-time champion missing the opening circuits of the season.

Marc Marquez is and will remain the best rider in the championship, regardless of the outcome of this year. He has that edge that we rarely see and no other rider in the current field possesses. Expect to see Marquez back to his best in 2021.

Joan Mir to complete consecutive title wins

Joan Mir will enter the 2021 season as the defending MotoGP champion and his new teammate Alex Rins make up an excellent team. Together, they make the Suzuki Team the strongest on the grid. But, are either of them in with a shot of winning it?

There were few who envisaged Mir winning the title at the start of the 2020 season, but consistently riding among paid dividends for the Mallorcan man.

He is the defending champion and we can already see that Marquez will miss the first two races of the season. There’s no reason why Mir can’t use the momentum of his win to claim the 2021 title.

Valentino Rossi to end his career with a title win

In the case of Rossi, it’s always interesting to see how he performs over the course of the season as we all know he’s capable of snatching a title from any of these younger riders.

This season feels like it could be his year. A new team and a fresh crew may help to reinvigorate the rider and give him the energy to make one last push amongst the top-flight of MotoGP. It’s fair to say that fairly early on we’ll have a picture of his chances of making it 10 titles.

MotoGP is as good as it’s ever been, with many motorsport fans turning away from Formula 1 and looking to the more competitive MotoGP. With so many hungry young drivers, it may be a bridge too far for the Italian. But, we won’t be counting him out just yet.
