The 2021 NFL Playoffs have arrived, with games to be played over the weekend. We’ll cover the best fixtures for Saturday and Sunday, including picks and predictions for how things may unfold on the day.
We kick things off with the Bills taking on the Colts at the Ralph Wilson Stadium, where Buffalo looks favourites to go through. We also have the big tie between Washington and Tampa, as well as the Titans vs Ravens and Steelers vs Browns games.
We’ve assessed the odds from all the top-tier sportsbook providers, reviewed the various teams’ form, and the predictions are in. Let’s see who will triumph in the Wild Card Round this weekend!
Buffalo Bills (1.33) vs Indianapolis Colts (3.43)
This will be an exciting game to get the Wild Card weekend underway. The Colts have seen a lot of success in recent weeks and will look to carry this momentum, as they’ve been excellent in rushing and will cause the Bills problems.
Buffalo will be hoping to make it to the Super Bowl for the first time in over twenty years, since 1994. While that’s a long road ahead, they enter this one as favourites and will be hungry to show their offensive prowess on Saturday.
The Bills pose a fairly comprehensive offence and will be able to exploit the weaknesses we’ve seen in the Colts defence at times. If the Bills control the ball and find the runners, they will win this fixture.
Take the Bills to win.
Washington Football Team (4.20) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1.24)
Our second game of the weekend takes us to Maryland and the FedExField, as the Washington Football Team hosts an in-form Buccaneers side. The NFL Playoffs betting odds reflect this, as the visitors look firm favourites to progress.
Washington is looking to snap a 2-game losing streak, having conceded to the Seahawks and Panthers in recent weeks. They will be relying on the likes of Haskins and Young to produce the goods.
Tampa Bay is playing some of the best football in the league right now. The Washington defence is solid and they will be able to hold Tampa to a relatively low score. But, can they produce in offence? We tend to agree with the bookmakers on this one.
Pick Tampa to win this one.
Tennessee Titans (2.60) vs Baltimore Ravens (1.53)
The Titans have won 3 of their last 5 games, conceding to the Packers and Browns. They’ve been excellent offensively and are capable of scoring on almost every drive. A weak defence means a high-scoring game – so this will be one to watch.
John Harbaugh will know the Titans will try to put up a high score, which he Harbaugh will welcome as his offence is electric right now.
The question is whether the Ravens set up to make the interceptions they can, exposing the weaknesses in the Titans passing game. This aspect of the game will be pivotal, which is why the oddsmakers found this a hard one to call.
Expect The Baltimore Ravens to win.
Pittsburgh Steelers (1.44) vs Cleveland Browns (2.87)
This game was played in Week 17, except back then The Steelers had a weaker roster; with this team back to full strength, expect to see a different outcome this time around.
A number of crucial players will feature for The Steelers. This isn’t to belittle the win, Cleveland has played with consistency and has shown they can battle with the NFL’s best.
The game was close last time and we foresee a similar thing this time. But, this time see the scoring flipping in favour of Pittsburgh.
Take the Steelers to win.
