UFC Picks for Makhachev vs. Moises Fight Night

With the heart of the summer around the corner, Dana White and Co. continue to put together some awesome UFC events for folks to enjoy. Such is the case this weekend, with Islam Makhachev and Thiago Moises headlining things. In this article, we have our UFC picks for Makhachev vs. Moises Fight Night. This event is one fans won’t want to miss.

ISLAM MAKHACHEV IS THE BIG-TIME FAVORITE TO DOMINATE THIAGO MOISES

Heading into the July 17 matchup, a little more than a month after UFC 263, there’s no denying that Islam Makhachev is the big-time favourite to dominate Thiago Moises. Matter of fact, it would probably be considered one of the biggest upsets of the year if Moises were to somehow pull off the unthinkable and defeat Makhachev. That’s how brilliant Makhachev has been of the late inside of the octagon.

The talented fighter is 19-1-0 in his UFC career, while Moises is 15-4-0. In his last fight, Makhachev really turned loads of heads when he went up against Drew Dober. The two provided us with quite a show, as this one needed to go three rounds to be decided. In that third round, however, Makhachev was able to take down Tober and record a win via submission.

As for Moises, we last saw him go toe-to-toe with another fighter in February when he battled Alexander Hernandez. That fight also went three rounds, with Moises coming away with a victory via decision. It was a solid win for Moises, and he’ll surely enter this Saturday’s bout with confidence. However, he’s a major underdog.

Moises currently holds 5.75 odds via the Las Vegas sportsbooks, while Makhachev is at 1.16. That tells you how much of a favourite the latter is. In making a pick for this upcoming fight night, it really is a no-brainer for us. We’re going with Makhachev and we encourage our readers here at CanadaSportsBetting to do the same. He’ll prove to be too much for Moises. Agree? Check out our UFC betting sites and get a wager in.

Will Miesha Tate be able to hold off Marion Reneau?

A big question UFC fans will have on their minds on Saturday is will Miesha Tate be able to hold off Marion Reneau? In this co-main event that will pair up two fantastic women’s Bantamweight fighters, Reneau and Tate are expected to put on an absolute show for UFC supporters to enjoy. This should be a see-saw battle from start to finish.

Tate is 18-7-1 in her fighting days. With that said, she’s coming out of retirement after nearly four years of not brawling.  Reneau hasn’t quite had as much success, as she’s 9-7-1. Nevertheless, she’ll be fired up to try and record an upset over Tate, who indeed is the favourite leading up to things. Tate is a superstar in this sport and for good reason. She’s got outstanding power and also is quick on her feet. That could spell trouble for Reneau.

The Vegas sportsbooks have made Tate the favourite, giving her 1.74 UFC odds. As for Reneau, she’s been listed at 2.05. Tate is certainly fired up to get the ball rolling for this one. She’s no question our pick to come out on top. She’s confident she’ll be able to get the job done and so are we.

“I’m excited to show you guys on July 17 because this is going to be Miesha Tate 2.0,” Tate said in a recent interview. “This is a different Miesha Tate when I have a good support system behind myself. I’m not exhausted going into training camps, I’m not exhausted going into fights, I’m not depressed. I have good support like a lot of these other fighters do going into their training camps.”

Khalid Taha should have no issues beating Sergey Morozov

Last but not least here, Khalid Taha should have no issues beating Sergey Morozov in their men’s Bantamweight meeting. Taha is 13-3-0, while Morozov is 16-4-0. These two both check-ins at 61.2 kilograms each, but Taha has a massive advantage when it comes to the reach: he has a reach of 175.3 centimetres, while Morozov’s is 170.5.

Per Vegas, Taha holds 1.57 odds, with Morozov getting ready for this tilt with his 2.35 odds. While we think this fight should also be quite entertaining and provide UFC fans with plenty of big blows, Taha is without question our selection for this one. His combination of power and fighting smarts should prove to be way too much for Morozov to handle. We also wouldn’t be surprised if he were to end things here with a first-round knockout.
