Vagabonds in their early years, the Boston Patriots played in four different stadiums from 1960 to 1970. Moving into Foxboro Stadium in 1971, owner Billy Sullivan renamed the team New England Patriots. Robert Kraft moved the team to Gillette Stadium in 2002, and they gained an immediate and strong home-field advantage. Akin to the New York Yankees, New England is often labelled the NFL Evil Empire. Constantly winning tends to put a bulls-eye on the back of a franchise. Masterfully obtained, and then brilliantly managed, Robert Kraft has owned and guided the Patriots since 1994. Head coach Bill Belichick, plus All-Pro QB Tom Brady, were cornerstones to building a Championship winning club. Let’s take a closer look at this model day sports juggernaut.

Bet On New England Patriots’ Games
A fascinating story, with more twists and turns than a Hollywood movie, the New England Patriots rise to NFL prominence is the dream of every sports fan. We offer a condensed version before our discussion of the pitfalls turned benefits when betting on New England Patriots games. When Billy Sullivan moved the Patriots to Schaefer Stadium in 1971, he failed to purchase the land around the venue. Robert Kraft, a New England season-ticket holder since 1971, purchased Foxboro Raceway horse racing track and much of the surrounding area.
When Sullivan ran into financial difficulties, largely due to his investment in the failed Michael Jackson Victory Tour, Remington shaver CEO Victor Kiam bought the team. However, Kraft put in a higher bid and purchased then named Sullivan Stadium, leaving Kiam and the Patriots as his tenants. Kiam tried to move the franchise but was unable to break free of the stadium lease. Faced with that roadblock, Kiam sold the team to James B. Orthwein, who grew weary of being an NFL Owner and sold the team, lock stock and barrel, to Kraft for a cool $172 million in 1994.
On the field, a mix of winning and losing proceeded the Kraft era as New England had nine winning seasons and a 156-190 record from 1971 to 1993. The Patriots captured five NFL playoff berths during that unstable period. They were blasted 46-10 by the Chicago Bears during Super Bowl XX in 1985, which was the Pats inaugural NFL Championship game. Placing a bet on New England’s games was a wise choice once Kraft took over as the Patriots produced a remarkable NFL best 279-121 regular season record from 1994 through the 2019 NFL campaign.
New England lost its second NFL title game, Super Bowl XXXI 35-21 to the Green Bay Packers in 1997, and three years later, the Bill Belichick and Tom Brady era blossomed. Together, Belichick and Brady closed out the first 50 years of Super Bowls with 13 playoff berths over 15 years and went 4-2 during six Super Bowl games. Running hot heading into the second half-century of Super Bowl Sundays – New England faced Atlanta in the 2017 title match. “There’s never been overtime in Super Bowl history” was said for the last time during the Super Bowl 51 battle.
Starting the “Next 50” with a bang, Tom, Bill and The Bunch posted 19 unanswered 4th quarter points and then scored during the only OT possession to post a historic 34-28 win.
