Atlanta Falcons vs New York Giants

Giants vs. Falcons Game Preview

New York Giants

Entering Week 7 of the 2018 NFL season, the New York Giants are the league’s biggest disaster. There seems to be no good news coming out of Giants camp, with internal tension building between Odell Beckham Jr. and everyone. The only thing benefitting the Giants on Monday is the fact they last played on Thursday night in Week 6, giving them extra time to prepare for the Falcons.

Atlanta Falcons

If not for an injury-ravaged defence, the Atlanta Falcons would garner much more attention in Super Bowl futures. However, the Falcons defence is so bad (ranking in the bottom third of just about every meaning defensive category) that even another prolific season from Matt Ryan is not enough to get the Falcons back into the mix in the hyper-competitive NFC South.

Game Snippet

Offence is the name of the game on Monday night. The Falcons have scored 31 points or more in four of their last five games, while the Giants should have success moving the ball against Atlanta, who rank last in passing yards allowed and second last in points against. Giants vs. Falcons Predictions

Moneyline Prediction

With the Falcons offence looking just about as good as it did during their run to the Super Bowl in 2016, Matt Ryan and the dirty birds should put up some points on the New York Giants. The Giants defence has struggled over their last three games, allowing 33, 33 and 34 points (with new of those games coming against the NFC South).

The Giants just do not have the quarterback anymore to keep up with an offensive team like the Falcons. The Giants play better than they should when a 6.0 or more underdog, but not good enough to bet on them to win. Take the Falcons to win on Monday and improving to 3-4 (getting them back in the NFC Wild Card mix).

Pick: Atlanta Falcons to Win -270

Game Total Prediction

While the Giants are arguably the worst team in the NFL right now, the extra time off between games and playing in a dome should help Eli and company put up some points against the Falcons terrible defence. The Giants should ride Saquon Barkley, who has at least 100 yards from scrimmage in his first six NFL games.

Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is also due for some scoring. Jones, who ranks second in receiving yards, has yet to score a touchdown. The Giants have done a surprisingly good job at limiting wide receivers this season. Of course, that as much a product of playing some run-first offences (Carolina, Jacksonville and Dallas) as it is having a good secondary.

Overall, Jones and Barkley should each have big games and help propel this game to over 54.5 points.

Pick: Over 54.5 points -110
