Betting On Fort Erie Horse Racing

From July to October, the Fort Erie racetrack plays host to several of Canada’s biggest horse racing events for Fillies, Mares and Thoroughbreds. Of these, the Prince of Wales Stakes is the biggest as the Second leg of the Canadian Triple Crown. The Rainbow Connection Stakes, Labatt Cup and Longshots OTB Cup are three of the biggest tournaments for female horses.  All events offer tremendous betting opportunities.

Rainbow Connection Stakes

Maybe the only horse race in the world named after a Kermit the Frog song, the Rainbow Connection Stakes is open only to Ontario-sired Fillies & Mares, 3 years of age or older. The relatively short race (5 Furlongs) takes place on July 1st – Canada Day – and lets bettors wager on Ontarian horses, making it one of the only chances bettors will get to see how the newest provincial Fillies and Mares can perform.

Prince of Wales Stakes

Betting on the Prince of Wales Stakes, held each year at Fort Erie racetrack, need not solely be on the Queen’s Plate winning thoroughbred. With exotic options such as Trifectas and Quinellas in addition to the standard favorites for Canadian horse racing fans like Place and Show, even if there is no Triple Crown possibility, the pocket boosting possibilities are countless.

The Labatt Cup

The Fort Erie racetrack hosts the Labatt Cup late August – mid-September, and if last year’s rain-filled track was any indication of things to come, horse punters will want to take careful note of the field. Our list of recommended horse racing sportsbooks are on top of the action, so when you’re ready to get your bets in, they’ll have the latest information on the Labatt Cup.

Longshots OTB Cup

The Longshots OTB Cup qualifies 2 year old Fillies, giving an early picture into promising horses’ futures. Top clubs from around the globe look to the Longshots as a chance to see what their future prospects are. Getting on the rail position at Fort Erie often pays off for Fillies, does betting on the inside position horse pay off for Canadian horse betting fans? This year’s Longshots OTB Cup will tell!
