The Viral Roundup – Cowboyz II Men Edition
Dallas score a big Monday night NFC East win, Kobe can't top the Raptors and the Dodgers pluck a star closer from the NL Central. Here's the sparkling fresh world of sports you're up to on December 8, 2015.

Did You Hear?

Washington blew a chance to top the NFC East on Monday night when they were bested by Dallas 19-16. The Cowboys (a two point underdog) scored the victory thanks to a 54-yard field goal in the dying seconds. Matt Cassell threw for over 200 yards passing in the win and Darren McFadden broke through the goal line in the win. Dallas now drops into a three-way tie first in the NFC East alongside New York and Philadelphia.

Did You See?

We’re still weeks away from the 2016 NHL Winter Classic, but there’s nothing wrong with getting a little excited in advance. The National Hockey League’s annual outdoor shindig goes down on New Year’s Day at Foxboro Stadium when the Boston Bruins host their arch-rivals the Montreal Canadiens. NBC has put together a quality hype video trumpeting the upcoming spectacle.

Did You Know?

- Kobe Bryant’s final game in Toronto featured a 21 point showing a losing cause in Toronto’s 102-93 thumping of the Lakers. Kyle Lowry scored 27 points in the win and Bismack Biyombo collected 13 rebounds by the time the final buzzer sounded. The Raptors are currently a half game up in the Atlantic division chase.

- The Cleveland Browns have been reluctant to keep Johnny Manziel in the starting pivot position, but he could be the starter this week after a two game bench job. ESPN’s sources claim Johnny Football will start in Cleveland’s Sunday afternoon showdown with the perplexing San Francisco 49ers. (The Browns are a one point home favourite at the moment.) Manziel has thrown for 933 yards and 5 TDs in limited action for Cleveland. Last week, the Browns were torched by Cincy 37-3 with Austin Davis as the team’s starting QB. Coach Mike Pettine has told the media that he’s yet to decide on a starter for Week 14.

- The Dodgers still have to sort out the hole that’s been left in Zack Greinke’s wake, but they have nabbed an All-Star closer for their bullpen. Cincinnati Reds reliever Aroldis Chapman has reportedly been dealt to Los Angeles in exchange for two prospects. Chapman has racked up over 146 saves and sports a 2.17 career ERA which will compliment current closer Kenley Jansen’s bullpen expertise. The Dodgers are currently pegged as a 14/1 World Series prospect on the Futures board.

- The Alexander Semin experiment has been a bit of a bust in Montreal and now the inconsistent Russian forward has been placed on waivers. The formerly feared sniper has been a healthy scratch in a number of Canadiens games and has only managed a goal and three helpers in fifteen games played. The Habs have lost their last two contests but still have 15/2 status on the Futures board as a Stanley Cup contender.
