The Viral Roundup – Crushed In Canada Edition

The Viral Roundup – Crushed In Canada Edition
The Jays fight to avoid an 0-3 fate, two NFC East rivals clash on Monday Night Football and Antti Raanta blanks the Sharks at MSG. Here's the sparkling fresh world of sports you're waking up to on October 20, 2015.

Did You Hear?

The Blue Jays bounced back big time on Monday night. Kansas City, a -160 road underdog, was on the losing end of an 11-8 slugfest in Game 3 with their starting hurler Johnny Cueto chased off the mound two innings in. Troy Tulowitzki, Josh Donaldson and Ryan Goins all went yard for Toronto and now Kansas City’s ALCS series lead slims down to 2-1. Game 4 goes down today at the Rogers Centre.

Did You See?

Alex Rodriguez won’t be starting for any out-of-luck NFL squads anytime soon. The Yankees star was hanging out with the Fox NFL Sunday crew this weekend and attempted to throw a pass to Jay Glazer. It, um, did not go well. If nothing else, it looked cool and the network’s spokesrobot can help with the clean up.

Did You Know?

- Sam Bradford threw three picks on Monday night but still had a comfortable 27-7 win over the Giants in their NFC East showdown. Philly feasted on wobbly play from Eli Manning (two INTs) and enjoyed 109 yards rushing from DeMarco Murray in the win and now both teams are tied atop the division at 3-3. Riley Cooper and Odell Beckham Jr. both had TD receptions for their respective sides.

- King Henrik had the night off on Monday, but Antti Raanta did a bang ‘em job as the backup option. Raanta was stopped all 22 shots that came his way as the Rangers blanked San Jose 4-0. Mats Zuccarello lit the lamp for the fourth time this season while Marc Staal had a marker and a helper in the win at MSG.

- Keenan Allen is dealing with a hip flexor injury. The Chargers wideout caught 14 passes for 157 recieving yards in three quarters in Week 6 before leaving the contest due to the ailment. San Diego lost that game 27-20 to undefeated Green Bay. Allen reportedly does not consider the injury serious, although that’s still to be determined. San Diego will do battle with Oakland on Sunday and are considered a four point home favourite in that matchup.

- The Chicago Cubs will look to make a dent in the NLCS tonight versus the visiting Mets. New York are up 2-0 in the series and will send Jacob deGrom to the mound versus Kyle Hendricks in the first Wrigley-hosted NLCS game since 2003. Chicago is listed as a +114 moneyline home underdog for tonight’s contest and it’s worth noting that 13 teams in MLB history have come back from 0-2 to win their league championship series.
