The New York Mets have won 8 of their last 10 and are fighting to lock down the NL East. The latest victory for the Big Apple’s less loved club came yesterday in a matinee hammering of the Colorado Rockies. Noah Syndergaard gave up two runs in the opening frame but settled into a good seven inning outing and the offense was plentiful for the Mets. Curtis Granderson, Kelly Johnson and Juan Lagares all went yard in this drubbing. The Mets will now host a more challenging opponent as a three game set versus the Pirates will begin tonight.

By the way, it’s been announced UFC lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos will make his first ever title defense before 2015 comes to a close. The Brazilian fighter takes on Donald Cerrone on December 19 in Orlando. The last time these two fought was in August 2013 with dos Anjos getting the W by unanimous decision.
Did You Know?
- The Toronto Blue Jays are still playing insanely good baseball. The newly minted AL East division leaders went into the Rogers Centre as the -170 moneyline home favourite and walked out with a 4-2 matinee victory over the Oakland A’s. Mark Buehrle improved to 13-5 on the year after an impressive seven inning start and Ryan Goins hit his fourth tater of 2015. The Jays are currently riding an 11 game winning streak and considered a 4/1 wager to win this fall’s World Series.
- Houston Rockets superstar James Harden is now an Adidas guy and he has the bank deposit to prove it. #13 has agreed to a massive 13-year deal with the athletics giant worth $200 million. Harden previously had an endorsement deal with Nike, but they did not match the term sheet. Oddsmakers have the Rockets as a 16/1 NBA title contender.
- Anderson Silva’s failed drug tests have led to a one year suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The MMA star tested positive for drostanolone and a form of androstane in separate tests related to his UFC 183 fight against Nick Diaz. Silva has also been fined $380,000 and the decision has now gone from a Silva win to a no contest.
