NFL 2016 Wild Card Saturday Matchups Playoff Odds and Parlay Prediction
Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs: Week 1 grudge match
Houston and Kansas City are both vastly different squads as the playoffs begin but the Texans and Chiefs battled in Week 1 with KC winning 27-20 in Texas. Following that contest, the Chiefs went on a five game losing streak before closing their season with ten straight wins. Houston opened their season at 2-5 and then won four in a row, before dropping two games and closing with three straight wins. Defense will be front and center here as Kansas City was third allowing 17.9 points per game and Houston was tied for seventh giving up 19.6 points per game. The Chiefs have an edge in scoring as KC posted 25.3 PPG on offence compared to the 21.2 PPG Houston scored.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals: AFC North rivalry fires up again
Meeting for the third time this season, for battle number 93, but just the second time ever during the playoffs, AFC North foes clash as Cincinnati hosts Pittsburgh to close out Wild Card Saturday action. The Bengals posted a 16-10 win in Steel City during Week 8 action – prior to Steelers rolling into Ohio and recording a 33-20 victory in the Week 14 rematch. Pittsburgh knocked Bengals QB Andy Dalton out of action at the beginning of the Week 14 contest and his thumb injury will keep him out of this contest. Pittsburgh was the last team invited to the 2016 NFL Playoff party. The Bengals ball-hawking pass defense will be tested by Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and the rest of the Steelers third ranked pass happy offense. We feel Big Ben will outscore AJ McCarron here.
NFL Wild Card Saturday Playoff Parlay: Both quarterbacks in the Texan vs Chiefs clash can excel or be rather ordinary in any given game but Alex Smith gets the nod over Brian Hoyer in the QB battle. The Houston defense has sparkled the past few weeks but the Kansas City D has been just as good. Both defenses have faced their share of inferior opponents. Pittsburgh’s wealth of talent on offence, plus an edge in playoff experience at QB, sways us to the Steelers. Back Kansas City and Pittsburgh with a three-unit parlay wager on the money lines posted at the BetOnline sportsbook.
