NFL Divisional playoff action takes center stage today as Baltimore visits New England in AFC action at 4:35 PM ET and then Seattle hosts Carolina for an NFC tilt at 8:35 PM ET on January 10, 2015. William Hill bookmakers have posted the hometown Patriots and Seahawks as thick chalk over the Ravens and Panthers.
Patriots vs Ravens: AFC playoff rivals battle at Gillette Stadium
Relative strangers during the NFL regular season, with just eight meetings since 1996, New England and Baltimore, are set to meet in AFC playoffs for the fourth time since 2010. The Ravens have had the upper hand as they posted a 33-14 victory in 2010 and 28-13 win in 2013. Though the three previous meeting were all played in Foxboro, the home side Patriots lone win was a 23-20 decision in 2012. Expecting the Pats to win a close contest - we are taking the points and the Ravens here.
Seahawks vs Panthers: Super Bowl Champs open their title defense at the Link
One almost has to pity the Panthers as Carolina has been fighting for their playoff lives for weeks now. The Cats scratched out four wins to end the regular season and then smothered the Arizona Cardinals 27-16 in Wild Card playoff action at home last weekend. For all their struggles, a date with the defending Super Bowl Champions on the road at CenturyLink Field is their only reward. Seattle was even hotter down the stretch as they won six straight games by a combined 134-49 margin.
NFL Saturday Divisional Playoff Parlay Prediction: As mentioned, William Hill has the home teams as huge chalk today. While we fully expect the Seahawks will blow out the Panthers, the Patriots vs Ravens contest could be the closest game this weekend. Give us Baltimore with the points and we’ll lay line to back Seattle with a 200 unit parlay ticket at the William Hill online sportsbook.
