A huge mismatch on the Major League Baseball SportsInteraction betting board has attention today as the Atlanta Braves host the New York Mets. The Braves are on a slide of epic proportions while the Mets are playoff bound for the first time in nine years. This MLB National League action is slated for 7:10 PM ET on September 12, 2015, at Turner Field in Atlanta, GA. Make hay with the Mets.
New York Mets: Streaking towards the MLB postseason
Knocking on the door of their first winning season since they posted an 89-73 record in 2008, the Metropolitans are relevant in New York again. Great pitching, solid hitting and some savvy trade deadline deals have the Mets sitting with a 80-61 record and New York is 8.5 games clear of the Washington Nationals in NL East Division. After posting a 20-8 record in August, the Mets are 7-3 early on in September as they look for a third straight win over the bumbling Braves.
Atlanta Braves: Once proud franchise has been reduced to MLB doormats
Playoff contenders for the better part of over two decades, Atlanta is on their way to their worst record since they went 65-97 back in 1990. The Braves are 56-86 overall and a 3-22 recent tumble has Atlanta 24.5 games behind the Mets in the NL East. The Braves are bad across the board as their 4.56 team ERA is the fourth worst mark in the Majors while their 506 runs scored on offence is the lowest total in baseball. The Braves have lost two straight to the Mets by a 12-3 margin.
Braves vs Mets MLB Prediction: A pair of rookies square off here as Mets RHP Noal Syndergaard (8-6 ERA 3.31) faces Braves RHP Williams Perez (5-6 ERA 5.42) in the battle on the bump today. Syndergaard had a bit of a rough go in August as he allowed 21 runs (19 earned) during his six starts. Pereze has been ever worse recently as he has allowed 34 runs (31 earned) during his last seven starts. We like the Mets to out-hit the Braves here and we are backing New York with a 500 unit wager on the run line price posted on the betting board at the SportsInteraction sportsbook.
