With the NFL Monday Night Football schedule now complete, NHL action moves in to fill the void as the betting board at SportsInteraction is bursting with 12 games tonight. Our focus is on Carolina vs Montreal as the Hurricanes host the Canadiens at 7:00 PM ET on December 29, 2014, at the PNC Arena, in Raleigh, NC.
Montreal Canadiens: Habitants are rested and ready to roll
Santa gave the Canadiens an extra gift, in the form of an extended break, as Montreal is the last team to return from the pause for the Christmas cause. The Habs last played six days ago as they headed into the holidays with a 3-1 road win over the Islanders. Following a 1-5-1 losing run, the Canadiens are 5-1 outscoring their opponents by a 17-7 margin in those six contests. Montreal is one of the healthiest clubs in the NHL as they don’t have a single player on the daily injury report.
Carolina Hurricanes: Starting to get healthy but will continue as an NHL bottom feeder
Sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, and second last overall in the NHL, Carolina is limping to the half point of the season with a 10-21-4 record. December has not been kind to the Hurricanes as they are on a 3-8-2 run and have scored just 16 goals in 13 games this month. There is some good news in Carolina as Jordan Staal, the ‘Canes fourth leading scorer last year, is expected to start his first game of the season tonight. Jiri Tlusty, who leads Carolina with ten goals despite missing seven straight games, is also expected back in the line up for this contest.
NHL Monday Night Betting Advice: The Canadiens are 6-0-1 in their last seven games vs Carolina including a 4-1 win 13 days ago in Montreal. That said, we are reluctant to give up goals on the road here so we will back the Habs with a 400 unit money wager at SportsInteraction. Being as we also like Detroit getting pucks as visitors in Boston, plus the Penguins straight up on the road in New Jersey, we will tie those lines to the Canadiens ML with a 300 unit three-team parlay.

Handicappers who convince themselves - and anyone else who will listen - that the Kentucky Derby is just another race probably haven't cashed too many tickets on the first Saturday in May. The truth is people should bet the Derby differently because of just how unlike any other race it is.
Instead of trying to figure out which backup National Football League players are better than others, while betting on NFL preseason action, we turn to fight for first in Canadian Football League.
