Manning vs Wilson Super Bowl Prop Bets Remember That Seinfeld Episode?

Do you remember that Seinfeld episode – when Jerry meets Keith Hernandez? Remember the after dinner scene in the car where Jerry is thinking; “Go ahead shake his hand. You’re Jerry Seinfeld. You’ve been on the Tonight Show”. That’s how Russel Wilson appears to be feeling as he greets Peyton Manning in the image below. The sophomore and willy veteran are set to lock horns in Super Bowl XLVIII action on February 2, 2014, at MetLife Stadium.

Super Bowl XLVIII Prop: First pivot to pass for 100+ yards

Bookmakers at Sports Interaction have tied Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson together with several prop betting options on Super Bowl Sunday. One that caught our eye was which QB will top 100 passing yards first. While the price to back Manning isn’t the greatest – this seems like free money. Manning averaged 342 yards per game this season while Wilson registered 210. Manning passed for 230 and 400 yards in his first two postseason games while Wilson barley made it to 100 against the Saints (103) before putting up 215 versus the 49ers and 103 came in the second half. We’ll drop a 100 unit wager on Manning to be the first quarterback to 100 plus passing yards.

Most Pass Attempts on Super Bowl Sunday: Wilson vs Manning

We were excited to see the “Most Pass Attempts” prop option on the betting board at SportsInteraction. In playoff action, Wilson has made 18 and 25 pass attempts while Manning has put the ball up 36 and 43 times. In regular season play, Wilson averaged 25.4 attempts per game while Manning aired it out 41.1 times per game. Our main point of contention on this prop is Seattle falling behind and abandoning their ground game while Denver goes on clock killing run focused drives. The pass attempt margin has been ten or less in six of the last nine Super Bowls, including four in a row. While taking the +10.5 almost seems like a sucker bet – we will bite with a 50 unit wager.
