Major League Baseball Handicapping Tips Friday Night Betting

Friday night features a ton of inter-divisional contests to kickoff the Major League Baseball weekend betting action. Sorting through it all has taken some time but we’ve uncovered a couple of gems while doing our handicapping homework. The St. Louis Cardinals vs Chicago Cubs contest, along with the Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Houston Astros tilt, both peak our interest on the July 27, 2012 MLB wagering schedule. Back the Cards and Bucco’s!

St. Louis vs. Chicago: Cardinals Streaking Versus Cubs

Chicago and St. Louis open a three game series at Wrigley Field tonight. The Cardinals have a 7-4 season edge including a three game sweep last weekend as the Cards clubbed the Cubs by a 23-1 count and registered two shutouts. St. Louis (53-46)  is 5.5 games back in the National League Central but just 1.5 games out of an NL Wild Card playoff position. Chicago (40-57) is looking forward to the 2013 MLB season as they will miss the playoffs for a third straight year. Back the Cards and RPH Lance Lynn (12-4) over LHP Travis Wood (4-5) and the Cubs.

Pittsburgh vs. Houston: Pirates Continue To Pillage – Astros Fading

One of the best teams in the National League visits the worst club in baseball as Pittsburgh continues a four game series in Houston. After dropping a 1-0 contest to Houston back on May 11, 2012, the Pirates have reeled off eight straight wins against the Astros. This is the Buccos first tip to Minute Maid Park this season where the Stros actually play some decent ball as they own a 24-25 home record. Astros RHP Jordan Lyles, the youngest pitcher in the NL, is 2-7 with a 5.50 ERA in 13 starts this season won’t be much of a problem for the Pirates tonight.
