Islanders vs Lightning Plus March Madness Sweet 16 Update
Lightning look to make some hay while the sun is shining
Fighting for playoff positioning, Tampa Bay is two points back of Montréal in the Atlantic Division. The Lightning play one of two games they have in hand on the Canadiens and they need to cash in these chips if they want to secure home ice advantage in the first round. The Islanders (22 less points than the Bolts) are out of the playoff race but enter this contest with back-to-back wins over Columbus (2-0) at home on Sunday and at Carolina (5-4) Tuesday. Expect the Lightning to strike against an Islanders squad that is tied with Ottawa for most goals allowed at 243 – good for 3.37 per game. We’ll invest 200 units on the Bolts puck line at the William Hill wagering website.
Florida vs UCLA: East meets West in NCAAB Madness in Memphis
With a berth to the Elite Eight on the line, #1 Florida is set to face #4 UCLA. Both teams had a fairly light schedule over their first two games as UCLA took out #13 Tulsa and #12 Stephen F Austin, while the Gators took a bite out of #16 Albany and #9 Pittsburgh. We have liked the Gators to win the NCAAB Championship since mid-February when they crushed #14 Kentucky 69-59 in the Blue Grass State. Expect Gator Nation to be out in full force as Florida is 659 miles away from their home in Gainesville while UCLA is 1,794 miles away from their home in LA. Taking the somewhat “safer” route – invest 300 units on the Gators and the William Hill sportsbook money line.
