Edmonton vs Boston: Alberta Capital Hosts Oilers and Bruins Battle
Boston Bruins: Reloading after a collapse in Calgary
Holding a 3-0 lead six minutes into the second period in Calgary on Monday night, Boston limped out of Cowtown dragging a 4-3 overtime loss behind them. The “Find a Way Flames” entered the third period down 3-1 and pushed the game into extra time with under five minutes left. A very harmless looking flip shoot found it’s way into the back of the net with two seconds left on the OT clock. Boston is now riding a five game losing streak and they are just two points ahead of Florida for the final Wild Card position in the Eastern Conference. The Beantown Boys need to get rolling.
Edmonton Oilers: Eureka moment was early in the 2014-15 NHL season in Oil Country
Though not a pleasant eureka moment, Edmonton probably realized they were headed to a ninth straight season of missing the playoffs when they lost 3-2 to Dallas back on November 25, 2014. The Oilers record fell to 6-14-4 at that point and they were already 14 points out of the postseason race. That said, Edmonton has been better in the New Year as they have posted at least one point in ten of their last 19 games. Edmonton gets G Ben Scrivens back tonight after he missed the last four games with a hamstring issue. Not sure it will help much as Edmonton, with a 3.31 mark, is second last in goals allowed per game. They won’t lay down but the Oilers will be out-matched here
Oiler vs Bruins Money Line Prediction: Boston headed up the QEII in a fairly foul mood and we see this as tough challenge for Edmonton. The way the Bruins have been running though – we aren’t prepared to give up pucks on the road here. We are backing the Boys from Beantown with a 400 unit wager on the money line price posted on the betting board at the UWin online sportsbook.
