Columbus vs Edmonton: NHL Cellars Dwellers Duel in Ohio
With just five games posted on the Bet365 betting board, it's a fairly light night in the National Hockey League. Deciphering which of the contests is the daily best bet has not been a simple task. In the end, our focus is on the Columbus vs Edmonton match as the Blue Jackets host the Oilers at 7:00 PM ET on March 13, 2015, at the Nationwide Arena in Ohio. Expect a high scoring contest here.
Columbus Blue Jackets: Very Jekyll and Hyde recently
Following a 3-1 win in Detroit last night, though out-shot by a 42-26 margin, the Blue Jackets return home tonight. Which Columbus team will show up is debatable as the injury/illness riddled Blue Jackets are 3-1 over their last four games but a 0-6-1 run preceded that stretch. Six of the past ten Columbus contests have gone over tonight’s 5.5 game total price. CBJ goaltender Sergei Bobrosky is 0-4-0 with a steep 3.37 GAA in games played on back-to-back nights this season.
Edmonton Oilers: Head into Ohio following a bizarre night in Pittsburgh
One of the more bizarre games of the NHL season played out in Pittsburgh last night. The Penguins opened up a 4-0 second period lead on Edmonton and looked like they were cruising to victory. Hold the phone though as the Oilers netted four straight goals and tied the game with ten minutes left in the third period. It was all for not though as the Oilers gave up two goals late and left the Steel City with a 6-4 loss. Edmonton has now lost six straight games by a combined 27-14 count.
Blue Jackets vs Oilers Game Day Call: Although this is a rare night when bettors might be better off passing on the NHL altogether, we are going to wade in gently here. Edmonton is dead last with a 3.35 team goals against average and Columbus is not much better with a 3.12 GAA mark. We are wagering 100 units on the OVER and we’ll tie the Oilers puck line and the OVER together with a 100 unit parlay wager on the NHL odds posted at the Bet365 sportsbook. Happy Friday The 13th!

Handicappers who convince themselves - and anyone else who will listen - that the Kentucky Derby is just another race probably haven't cashed too many tickets on the first Saturday in May. The truth is people should bet the Derby differently because of just how unlike any other race it is.
