Cleveland vs Detroit: MLB American League Worst Meets First

We have a first versus worst battle in the AL Central division today that features a pitching mismatch when the Tigers face the Indians in Cleveland. Justin Verlander heads to the hill against Trevor Bauer in MLB action on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, with the first pitch slated for 7:05 PM ET from Progressive Field in Ohio. The Cats are white hot while the Tribe are not.

Detroit Tigers: Starting to run away with AL Central Division

Having just crossed the quarter pole of the 2014 MLB season, Detroit is proving to be the class of the American League Central division. Despite a 5-4 loss to Cleveland last night, the Motor City Cats have opened a 7 game lead on second place Kansas City and 9.5 games over the last place Indians. The Tigers are on a 15-4 roll and the lead the Majors with a .675 win percentage that is buoyed by an MLB second best .278 team batting average.

Cleveland Indians: Facing an uphill climb out of MLB AL Central cellar

Riding a 3-6 game losing streak over their last nine games, Cleveland has dug themselves a deep hole as they occupy the American League Central cellar. Sitting in the middle of the pack in most major statistical categories, long losing runs have proven to be the Indians (20-25) undoing early on this season. The Tribe have also had a 2-7 run as well as a 2-8 streak already this season – those runs of futility compute to a 7-21 record.

CSB MLB Call: Back the Tigers over the Indians with 500 units on the William Hill run line.
