Blue Jays vs Astros: Canuck Side is Chalk at Canada’s Sportsbook
Toronto Blue Jays: Riding top wave of the AL East log jam
Understanding we are just ten or so games into the 2014 MLB season, our expectations are panning out in the American League East. Separated by just one game, the AL East is a five team pile up and Toronto is on top of the stack. After a 2-2 season opening series against Tampa Bay, that was followed by a 2-1 series loss to the Yankees, Toronto can sweep the Astros before they head out on a 9-day three city road trip on Friday. Every game is going to count in the AL East and heading out on a long roadie is always a little easier when you win the final game of a home-stand. After a rough Opening Day start, we like that Jays RHP ace R.A. Dickey found his good stuff as he pitched lights out against New York in a 4-0 home win on Saturday. Knuckles Away!
Houston Astros: Welcome to the American League still not very warm
Following a promising 2-0 start, Houston is finding their second season in the American League much the same as their first. Since 6-2 and 3-1 wins over the Yankees to open the year, the Astros have lost six of their last seven games. We are still getting a feel for the ‘Stros but a steady stream of 3-6 runs would not surprise us as Houston will struggle to improve on their 51 total wins during MLB 2013. Houston looks to salvage a win during their only trip north of the border this season – the Jays will travel to Houston to open the sticky dog days of August. LHP Dallas Keuchel heads to the bump for his second start of the year after the Angels roughed him up for four runs on eight hits over five innings on Saturday. He better be better tonight. We will stay on the “safer” side of the street for this contest with a 500 unit money line wager as we soar with the Blue Jays at the Bet365 sportsbook. We will also wager 200 recently earned bonus units on a Jays Run Line and Under two-bet parlay. Act Now!
Bonus NHL Wager: We can’t resist a NY Rangers over the Sabers (-320 ML) plus Montreal Canadiens (-225 ML) over the Islanders parlay ticket so we’ll lay a 200 unit 2-team money line parlay on NHL puck action.
