With the long, hard Canadian winter in full effect now, one of the best ways to escape the dark and dreariness is to enjoy some great soccer from a far off and sunny place. With teams built with players from the top leagues in Europe, the African Cup of Nations is full of stars and entertainment. With the World Cup now less than a year and a half away, the African Cup of Nations is a great chance to get an early glance at the top African teams entering 2018.

African Cup of Nations Odds 2017

The favourites at the 2017 African Cup of Nations are Senegal and Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast is the reigning Champion and has made the finals two other times in the last ten years, while Senegal has never won the tournament – with a fourth place finish being their best showing in the last decade. Host nation Gabon is sitting at about 10/1 to win the tournament, but historically Gabon has never even made a third place match let alone won the tournament.

Ghana at 17/2 is a smart pick as they have made the semi-finals in the last five tournaments, but have not been able to close out and the whole thing since 1982. Zimbabwe at 80/1 is the biggest underdog worth a wager after a 2-2 draw in their first tournament match.
